I have a friend of mine who played in Pro Open this past year before becoming a PDGA member. He came in third place and cashed. He then became a PDGA member a couple of months later. My question is; can he play advanced AM? His rating is 944.

Did he join the PDGA as a Pro or Am? If a Pro, then he can play Advanced in any event except the Am Worlds, Am Nats and Am World Dubs as long as his rating remains under 970. If he joined as an Am, then no restrictions playing Advanced in any event that offers it no matter how high his rating goes as long as he doesn't play Open and cash some time in the future.
