Hi all,
Let's use this for some fun. When plotting vacations it's always nice to consider disc golf and beer, and access to both. Thus, what are some of your favorite proximal course/brewery combinations?
The beer must be good (who cares what courses are near the Coors plant in Golden...) and the course(s) should be good too.
A couple I'll start with:
- Mt. Bachelor/Deschutes Brewing Company, Bend, Oregon. Stunning alpine course and the wonderful Deschutes Brewery is on the way up and down the mountain, with its brewpub nearby.
- Kit Carson Park, Montiel Park/Stone Brewing Company, San Marcos/Escondido, Cal. Both the courses are good and fun but Stone World Headquarters lurks up on the hill nearby, which heightens the value of the combo.
Let 'em fly!

You left out the course at Cal State San Marcos, which is probably closer to Stone Brewing than Kit Carson. Add to that the fact that Stone will hold their 14th Anniversary Celebration on campus August 13th. We're trying to get a booth set up next to basket #11 so partiers can putt a bit and buy fundraising discs for Stone's charities.
If you want disc golf and good beer together, check out the Anderson Valley Brewing Company in Boonville, CA. They have an 18-hole course on their grounds, complete with homemade baskets made of wine barrels and bike wheels. I like their Boont Amber Ale.

Not the finest championship course but if you're traveling and looking for a par-54 in-town course and drinks, try the Timmons Park/ Blue Ridge Brewery combo.
Blue Ridge has at least 5 of their brews on tap at all times and a great bison burger, as well as being only a few minutes drive from Timmons Park and about 20 minutes from Easley's much more challenging JB Owens disc golf course.

Great idea for a thread!
I'll start with my favorite courses and/or my favorite breweries / brewpubs:
Highbridge Gold course, Highbridge, WI (http://www.pdga.com/course_directory/course/highbridge-gold) / South Shore Brewing, Ashland, WI (http://www.southshorebrewery.com/) - My top rated disc golf course
Moraine State Park, Portersville, PA (http://www.pdga.com/course_directory/course/moraine-state-park-dgc) / North Country Brewing, Slippery Rock, PA (http://www.northcountrybrewing.com/) - One of the top courses in the world!
Pier Park, Portland, Oregon (http://www.pdga.com/course_directory/course/pier-park) / Rogue Public House, Portland, OR (http://www.rogue.com/) - Maybe one of the prettiest courses ever
Deer Lakes Park, Tarentum, PA (http://www.pdga.com/course_directory/course/deer-lakes-park) / Church Brew Works, Pittsburgh, PA (http://www.churchbrew.com/) - Church even sponsors disc golf with their own hotstamped discs for sale
Any course in Kalamazoo area (http://www.pdga.com/course_directory/zipcode?filter0=49001) / Bell's Eccentric Cafe, Kalamazoo, MI (http://www.bellsbeer.com/) - world class beer
Roland Park, Akron, PA (http://www.pdga.com/course_directory/course/roland-park) / Stoudts Brewing Company, Adamstown, PA (http://www.stoudtsbeer.com/) - My home course, I often need a cold beer after a round on the new 27-hole layout.
Lemon Lake County Park complex, Crown Point, IN (http://www.pdga.com/course_directory/course/lemon-lake-county-park-silvergold) / Three Floyds Brewing Company, Munster, IN (http://www.3floyds.com/) - Rated in 2010 the best brewer in the world (http://www.ratebeer.com/RateBeerBest/bestbrewers_012010.asp)
Stafford Lake Park, Novato, CA (http://www.pdga.com/course_directory/course/stafford-lake-county-park) / Moylan's Brewery & Restaurant (http://www.moylans.com/) - For a hop head like me, their Moylander Double IPA and Moylan's Hopsickle Triple Hoppy Imperial Ale are to die for! :)
and for something completely different...
Long Trout Winery, Auburn, PA (http://www.pdga.com/course_directory/course/long-trout-winery) - This hippie winery makes delicious fruit wines and berry wines, and has an 18-hole disc golf course on the premises!

Southern Star is aight, certainly not what I would consider one of the best canned microbrews. That honor belongs to Oskar BLues Brewery (http://www.oskarblues.com/)
Closest 18 hole course appears to be in Estes Park

It's just a temp course set up for special events, but it's on the property of Pisgah Brewing Company in Black mountain, NC. Just outside of Asheville.
Within a 5-10 minute drive of Richmond Hill in Asheville, NC you have Highland Creek brewing Co., Asheville brewing Co., French Broad brewing, Craggie brewing Co., Lexington Avenue brewery, Wedge Brewing Co., Oysterhouse brewing Co., and Green Man brewing. Have never gone thirsty in Asheville, plus the music is top shelf and great restaurants are everywhere!

Sweet, I am going to North Carolina next spring / early summer for vacation. I went to the OBX Brewery once, but there aren't any courses in that part of NC :(

Well if we're talking about temp. courses to....We hold our Ice Bowl(weekend between the NFL playoffs and superbowl) at Bright Brewing in Eola, Texas. Population of this little town is maybe 20 people, none of which are DGers. Last year we had almost 70 players attend so we more than tripled the population of the town! We set up a 9 hole temp. course, think more putt putt style DG, and play 4-6 9 hole rounds. The course is designed so you go by 2 doors at each end of the course to go in and get refills. It's a 2 disc challenge to make it a little more interesting. Fun times for sure!
Scott, with all you seem to do in Boerne, I'm suprised you haven't mentioned the dodging duck?
Or how bout if you go to Fredericksburgh, TX. and play their school course...the Fredericksburgh Brewing Co. is only a few blocks away. I swear when I take that first sip of the Enchanted Red Rock Ale I hear "Angels blowing horns!" The course is no good, but the beer is GREAT!
