We are planning our annual club meeting for Saturday January 29th.

We will start about 9:00 with breakfast tacos. There will be a free mini after the meeting.

In the meantime, if you want to be nominated for a position, now is the time. PM me or email lodga@satx.rr.com. This is the time to get involved! :)

Nominations will be accepted until January 27th for the following positions:

President
Vice President
Secretary

Executive Committee (3 members)

We will have a membership drive to kick things off. You will need to be a current member to vote in the election. Memberships will be $15 and you will receive a 2011 bag tag. New members will also get some other goodies, while they last.

As part of the membership drive, we will give away some cool prizes including an Innova Competition Bag and an Innova Mini basket. Everyone who joins or renews that day will receive one raffle ticket and the drawing will be held immediately after the mini.

This will not be your ordinary mini, there are no prizes for 2nd place, WINNERS TAKE ALL !!!!!!

Not really sure who to ask here....but....Do you all want to add LOSO to our Alamo Disc Series Tournament? I really want SADC to start working with LODGA this year to bring bigger and better things to the San Antonio area. Maybe something you all can discuss at the meeting.

Just to set the record straight here. Making a tourney a part of the series doesn't diminish in any way that tourney. Take a look at Gonzo, nobody looked at that as just another tournament in a series. It was the same event as it was prior to being part of the series. In fact it helped the tourney draw additional players who where playing in the series to that tourney. It really just means that players who play in the qualifiers earn points. Nothing more, nothing less. The offer will always stand to add LOSO to the series. :)

Wow what a great turnout! 20 new members and 18 members renewed their memberships for 2011. Thanks for coming out. Mini was tough but fun one disc format. In the raffle, the mini basket went to Laura DeHeer and the Innova Competition bag to Joni Smith.

The charter change was approved, and the Treasurer, which was an elected position, was abolished. A new position of Financial Officer was created, which is a position appointed by the Executive Committee.

Brian Paschal was appointed Financial Officer.

Also a policy of succession for the officers was put into place, so as to rotate new people into the Secretary, VP, and Pres positions to give them a break and encourage new blood to come forward.

Finally the charter changes also restored the family membership, so that when a mom and dad join, their kids are automatically members.

If remember serves me right SADA was formed because they thought LOGDA didnt represent what Scott and Bird wanted. Just like Family you have members of it move on for 1 reason or another. It was SADC who said we need more then one Club in the area and then cried because a thrid one was formed. Plus from what I seen LODGA has done more for Disc Golf in the San Antonio area then any other here in SA. Have boughten more then 20 baskets for course and 10 Benchs has had Bridges constructed and has help creat new courses and has supported Disc Golf for many years. I think the division of the house came back around 4 years ago when Olando and Scott seized Brain McClain for their club after LODGA people worked hard for 2 years to get it in the Ground and now you want LOSO tournement. I personal would say No but unlike SADC the membership has a say and we say No LOSO is a LODGA event and has been that way long before Bird got involve and divided our house. Unity is Power so Disc on

The decision not to join a series is more about "protecting" LOSO from things out of our control.

LOSO 2011 will be the 9th annual. Those of us who have spent the last 5+ years developing an event that I believe is respected throughout South Texas, maybe all of Texas, are very careful with everything connected to it. That is how it has become what it is.

If we were to join a series run by someone else, I dont care who it is, we would then be putting our fate in someone else's hands, and we are not prepared to do that. If our own mismanagement does us in, then that's on us, and that's life.

I'm not here to make war with anyone....I come in peace. I just wanted to invite LODGA to join SADC on something. That's it. We would not run LOSO...LODGA would. It's over. You all said "No".

Dave your ignorance is at an all time high. You are so right things are sooooo much worse now.

New courses in the works, new course in the ground, more San Antonio area golfers than ever, 7 sanctioned events in the area last year, SA's first ever A tier. New benches, new bridges, new holes at almost all courses.

Also no club seized any course. I run events at and support all courses in the area. I'm pretty sure the courses, at least the ones in parks, are controlled by the city where they rezide. I could be wrong on that though.

Dave i dont want to speak for any one (Orlando or Scott) But when you have people asking for suggestions and help, but turn around and only want selected people to step up for one reason or another you cant blame those people for wanting to break off and try out there own ideas and suggestions wich i think they have done very well. These guys are leaders and thats why they do what they do. There is nothing wrong with a little competion it keeps people honest and grows the area of discgolf in the area. I can only say this because i was experiencing some of the same things that they were, the group was a little clicky. Not all of them but some of the folks at the time of the split. Dave your hate and discontent on here is always old and uncalled for.
