WAFDA is very proud to hold another Ice Bowl at historic Tilles Park, featuring an expanded from 9 hole to 18 hole layout

This will be very similar to the layout played in 2009 & 2010

Saturday is our "Traditional Disc Golf" format

On Sunday for those that want we'll have a completely separate Super Class event (probably just the original 9 hole layout)

for those unfamiliar with Super Class it involves playing with only certain approved large, non beveled flying discs such as the Ultra Star used in playing Ultimate, the Zephyr, ect., a good resource to learn more about it and what discs can be used is at:
http://www.pdga.com/super-class (http://www.pdga.com/discussion/../super-class)

THESE ARE 2 TOTALLY SEPARATE EVENTS

Both of the Tilles events are PDGA sanctioned, due to the charitable aspect of these events there will be no $10 "Non-Member Fee" and all PDGA player fees will be donated to charity,
these rounds will not receive "Ratings" due to mulligans being sold for charity,
Current PDGA members will receive points.

In 2010 WAFDA raised $3,875 and several hundred pounds of food for charity with our Ice Bowl endeavors. We hope to raise that bar even higher this year.
Our charity for the Tilles events is the Community Services Clearinghouse which is a large Food Bank serving Western Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma.
The money raised is earmarked for the Backpacks for Kids Program which sends children home with food for the weekend that may not be provided good nutrition otherwise

Ten Dollars from every entry, all mulligan and raffle proceeds, donations and ALL profit made from amateur merch payouts and additional merchandise sales
will go directly to the charity.
The remaining portions of the entry will go to a traditional PDGA payout back to the players

While it is true that most food banks can use cash vs. can goods due to their wholesale buying abilities I feel that this is still a good venue to accept food donations,
therefore we are asking for 10 non-perishable food items as part of the entry fee - if players don't bring food items we will settle for an additional $5 (which goes to our charity)

All entries include a commemorative Ice Bowl disc which will reflect $5 of the entry fee (a normal $8 - $10 value)

This is another area that players can help with:

For $25 you may sponsor a hole, We have a little bit of local sponsorship from area businesses but you - the players would really help,
it could be for your business or where you work (tax deductible advertising) or you could have fun and smack talk your favorite adversary

Another area we can use help in is merchandise to boost the Raffle, CTP's, perhaps a Ring of Fire or even payouts

We'll have a good selection of Ice Bowl Discs from several manufacturers and plastic types plus some clothing for am payouts and for sale also

We'd like to encourage everyone to support as many Ice Bowl events that you can, play 1 or play em' all, all for fun and a great cause, feeding the hungry.....we'll see ya on the courses!!

Evan did you pick up any of my event flyers when you were in town? I would be happy to sponsor a couple of holes with those flyers... I can send artwork if needed!

Awesome - 1969, the PDGA must of confused Saturday with the Super Class event that Sunday as we'll be using disc technology from about 1969 that day :D

I am not doing "online reg", anyone interested in pre-regging send me an e-mail or call me and I'll let you know where to mail a check

it is a charity event so I definitely don't want to turn anyone back however we do just have 18 holes for this event

DUFF: Thank you for your sponsorship - send me an e-mail with the flyer please :)

Looks like roads will be clear for this week-end :)

Weather forecast is showing sunny and a high of 50 degrees for Saturday :D

We have added free entries to the Duff Special and the Centennial Cup events in the Raffle - both with a $5000 ace hole - so that's a possible $10,000+ value  Big Thanks to Duff & Dave Wise

Super Class players will have it even better on Sunday with 60 degree weather :D If anyone is interested in playing Super Class on Sunday - contact me, basically we'll have a few loaner discs for anyone that doesn't have a legal disc - we've never had high attendance with these events but those that have played have had lots of Fun with it

travel safe :)

Tee Pads free of snow is happening, I'll be at the course tomorrow from noonish on doing that and laying LOTS of OB Line :)

... true ... 1969 was cool times ...

I was born in 69, my first car was a 69 Z28 Camaro (hugger orange with white stripes), and now my "new" house that I just moved into was built in 69. I'm stuck in the hippie generation, oh well there are worse times to get stuck in:)
