For those that are seeing this for the first time, Rick had a heart attack yesterday. It is a very sad day today.

Thanks for letting us know.
Rick will definitely be missed. Much too young to leave us.

Rick will be missed. Those of us that remember the 1985 Worlds know that it would not have happened had Rick not been so selfless offering to run it, allowing the rest of us to play. We will miss you Rick and all you have done.

I could not agree more.

The chapel was past capacity. Several of us stood in the vestibule for the service and more still were seated in the adjoining hallway watching the service on a TV. If that isn't a testament to a guy's character, I don't know what is.

If you have ever played at McClure, Haikey Creek, Chandler (bear), Mack Taylor, or Riverside - you have Rick to thank for that. He was the spark that got disc golf going in Tulsa and is one of the main reasons (if not THE main reason) that we are considered a disc golf mecca.

Dave Wise, Michael Barr and myself will be running his Disc Flights minis in his honor.

I personally ask that everyone come out Friday morning to McClure Park at 10am for a fun mini. Take the day off from work, get your plastic out, and let's play one for Rick. Let's remember TDSA member #001 in the best way possible - by playing the game he was so passionate about.
