PDGA Europe Competition Grant Program

Program Description

The PDGA Europe Competition Grant Program was launched in March 2024. The purpose of the Grant is to invest a portion of the fees PDGA receives from European Continent Members and events directly back into the continued growth and development of the sport across the European Continent. The vision of the Grant is to support sanctioned events that focus on underserved divisions (women, juniors & masters), international tours, and to help prominent national competitions grow and improve across Europe.

Grants will be provided to Tournament Directors of PDGA sanctioned events directly or through the event organizing company or club. Materials and equipment purchased with grant funding must become the property of a national or local not-for–profit disc golf, sports or community association or club, and not the individual participants. All events or projects receiving support must promote PDGA Europe and its contributions as part of their activities. The agreement may include the use of PDGA Europe on-course assets and/or the insertion of PDGA Europe advertisements in video broadcasts, when applicable.

Guidelines and Eligibility

Funding is for events and projects in European Continent countries only.

The types of events or projects eligible for funding include: Women only events, Masters only events, Junior only events, events focused on these divisions, or events significantly promoting these divisions in less developed countries. Funding will also be available to support Events/Tours/Series that have international reach and are organized in at least two countries, i.e. are connecting multiple countries, and inviting foreign participants to join the leaderboard. Lastly a funding can be used to help National Championships or other prominent national competitions reach a desired level in less developed countries – i.e. national championships to reach B tier, prominent competitions to reach DGPT Silver status etc.

Recipients must sign an agreement with PDGA Europe and submit a final report after the project concludes. These reports should be well written with the intent of publication and promotion by PDGA Europe and should include photos, videos, links, and other supporting information such as press coverage.

Grants may be used to fund activities for 12 months from the date of Grant approval. Applications that include activities scheduled prior to the date of submission will not be considered.

Application Details

Applicants must use the official application form.

Applications can be submitted at any time. The following PDGA Europe review may include requests for further information. Applicants will be notified of the decision. Grants may or may not reflect the amount requested. Funds for approved applications will be transferred to the recipient’s IBAN account after the agreement has been finalized and signed by both parties.
