2025 Selinske U.S Masters - Day 2 Recap

There was plenty of movement before Moving Day even arrived in Ruidoso.
New courses were in play for Round 2 of the 2025 PDGA Tim Selinske U.S. Masters Championships presented by Innova on Friday and new leaders emerged, leads grew and things got tighter in New Mexico.

Across the 26 divisions, there are 12 new leaders, two ties, tighter races and several players aiming to hold onto their leads with two rounds to go at the third PDGA Major of 2025.
Daniel Polk leads MP40 with two rounds to go.
Here's a look around the action in the Land of Enchantment:
- Minnesota's Daniel Polk fired off a hot round of 47 at Oso to jump two spots into the solo lead. His 11-under, matched by Nate Sexton, who climbed 11 spots onto the lead card, gives him a one-stroke lead over Cale Leiviska and Paul Oman. Sexton is four back of the lead as action shifts back to Moon Mountain.
- Hank Kirwin kept it relatively clean at Moon Mountain to jump into tie for the lead in MP55 with Michael Ynfante. Steve Boyan is one stroke back and Tony Pugh, who had the hot round of 5-under, jumped six spots and onto the lead card, is four back.
Shawn Barnett is the new leader in MA40 after a hot round at Moon Mountain.
- Doug Williams had the hot round in MP60 to take a one-stroke lead over four players tied for second. Other hot rounds included and new leaders included: Jay Gobrect (MP70 — Lead: 2); Rob Engebretson (MP75 — Lead: 1); Shawn Barnett (MA40 — Lead: 3); Caley Allen (FA40 — Lead: 1); Steene Routh (FA55 — Lead: 4); Michael Michalak (MA60 — Lead: 2); Joyce Sauer (FA60 — Lead: 2); Gene Kouba (MA75 — Lead: 5)
Deona Werth is in a three-way tie in FP60.
- A tight battle is brewing in FP60 with a three-way tie between Kathy Hardyman, Deona Werth and Christine Huestis. In MA50, Gordon Waldesphul jumped three spots into a tie with Erik Tribelhorn. They're one stroke ahead of Gary Collier.
- Sergio Callas had the hot round by two strokes at Oso to close the gap to three strokes behind Brian Schweberger in MP50. Things also got tighter in MA55 with John Borelli pulling to within two of Mark Goffi. It's a one-stroke battle in MA65 with Steven Gouletas leading Mike Hughes and Karl Molitoris leading Michael England in MA70.
Jenn Allen is pulling away in FP40.
- Juliana Korver carded an ace in a sterling back nine at Grindstone to open a five-stroke lead in FP60 as action heads back to Alto, where she tied Margaret Patterson in Round 1. Other leads who grew include: Jennifer Allen (FP40); Karen Sattler (FP55); Eric Rainey (MP65); Sandy Gast (FP65); Laurie Cloyes-Chupa (FP70); Barry Fischer (MP80); Sylvia Voakes (FP80); Alexandria Sanchez (FA50);
