everythings set. we are insured and sactioned. i've passed the officials test and i recieved the td's packet from the pdga. so far i have 20 pre-regs. thats means 30 discs left. if you would like to pre-reg before the tourney i am off work mon and tues. wed you will need to come by marketplace after four. that morning i will be in fayeteville around 830 or 9 todo a delivery at the express in the mall i will have about 45 minutes where i can take regristration money but you will need to meet me at the mall at the unloading dock by the food courts. look for the big van with marketplace all over it.
thursday come by marketplace in the evening friday also in the evening. if you have any questions fill free to give me a call 479 522 6340. if i dont answer it means i am at work just leave a message and i will get back to you.
if there are any leftover will they be sold or gave away as prizes or whatever

I will be out at BG about 4:15 or so on Friday if anyone wants to play a round. Let me know and I'll be looking for you.
Does anyone know if holes are in short now? Haven't played the shorts in several months now. Definitely need the practice on them.

all the pins are in the shorts except for #2 and #4. hopefully if everything goes well tomorrow i will have the problem fixed. if you are going to be out on friday keep an eye out for a pro out of tennesee. i talked with him today and he said he would be in the fort sometime on friday to play the course before the tournament.

as long as we have the players meeting before the first round its all good. first round tee-off is scheduled at 9. but if we know for sure there are more players still out there we can push back a little bit.

went out to the course today and worked on hole two and four.
linked up with bobby faulkner the parks maintence guy and they ended up making wafda an auger that worked like a charm to drill and pull all the mulch that was jammed down the tubes. so all the baskets are in the a positions for the tournament.
we will have two the three more trash cans in the lot for the tournament and bobby is hunting down some orange cones so we can close off the parking lot when it fills up, and it will fill up. also bobby is tracking down the tournament banner that disapeared after the hell on the borber. :o
also ran into mithcel at the course and he informed me that chuck kennedy will be in the area when am worlds is going on. he will have a full week to drive to different locations and play the courses. so chuck kennedy will hopefully be out at the ben geren and the course in alma. :D:D:) :cool:or was it nick knight?

GREAT job Dave!
I wish I would have had a camera to get all those discs in flight during the "Line of Fire" for CTP!! If you weren't there you would have to see it to believe it!! 50 or so discs launched at one time for a single pin 100-150 feet away!!! Crazy stuff man, but loads of fun!
I can't wait for the next tourney!! Thanks to everyone that helped support my disc golf boys from the club who made it out. A few slowed us down and a few came real close to showing us up!! That is our future. Remember the day you helped them when you see their name on top of the World's leader board.

I've heard great things about the tournament, wish I could have been there.
Here's some more about the tournament-
What a great day!
The success of the Ben Geren Blowout exemplifies the efforts of Super Dave Hudson, the Fort Smith area disc golfers, and the WAFDA members/volunteers.
The larger than expected field flowed through both rounds at a comfortable pace, and were able to play Ben Gerens 18 holes in both the A and B pin placements. Many thanks to those involved in moving the pins between rounds.
I had the pleasure of playing the first round with Jerry Fendley, a former Fayetteville resident who now lives, and teaches, in Oark, Arkansas. Jerrys love for the sport of disc golf, his desire to improve his game, and his selfless attitude are just a few of his numerous positive attributes. Jerry has recently come to terms with an issue that many disc golfers are reluctant to confront. Jerry, long a closet left handed player, has now committed to playing full time as a leftie. For a teacher in a conservative rural Bible Belt community to openly admit that he used to be a righty, but now chooses to live his disc golf life as a leftie, the consequences could be tragic. Instead, the community of Oark has openly accepted Jerry for who he is, not what he was. My eyes welled with tears as Jerry told me of his struggles. I hugged him as a fellow leftie- trying my best to hide my genetic superiority.
Anyway back to the tournament.
I also got to play the first round with Richard Mitchell. I guess hes from Tulsa. Id never heard of him before but he seemed like a pleasant enough fellow. Kind of quirky, but cute- in a teddy bear kinda way. I think hes a closet leftie as he threw a lot of right-handed two-finger shots. Jerry and I prayed for Richard during lunch.
Due to one-hole blowups by the two other players on my card for the second round I was able to garner my first PDGA victory as a Pro Master. The last PDGA event I won was as an Advanced Master at 2003 Am Worlds. I will forever be indebted to Tommy Eddy and Shawn LaMastus for the generosity they displayed this weekend. :o:D

Since you're so impatient Boobs, I'll give you my scores.
1st round (A pins): 53 (-1)
2nd round (B pins): 54 (E)
I could've shot alot better, but I didn't take any chances. I played safe, fairway, par golf and if I missed a putt, i had no more than a 6-10ft comeback putt...and it was good enough to win.
I compared my rounds with the pro's rounds at HOTB last year and those 2 rounds would be rated at (i think) 909 & 950. However, accounting for the wind on saturday, those may go up. I said as soon as I win Am in a sanctioned event I would move up, so I am. My goals for this year are:
Top 3 in Adv. at a C tier
Top 5 in Adv. at a B tier
Top 10 in Adv. at an A tier
and Top 20% at Am Worlds (if i get in off the waitlist)

one of the questions that i had was is it just the player on the card that get the penalty strokes or the whole card?
this will change up the unoffical scores. the mistakes were on two am cards and one novice card.

Mar 09 2006, 09:17 PM
superDave, rule 804.03 states:
G. After the scorecard is turned in, the total score as recorded shall stand with no appeal, except for the following circumstances:
(1) Penalty throws may be assessed at whatever time the infraction is discovered until the director declares the tournament officially over or all awards have been distributed.
(2) If it is determined that the total score was incorrectly recorded, either by an error on a hole score or by an error in totaling the hole scores, including omission of the total score, the director shall add two penalty throws to the correct total score. These penalty throws are not added when the TD (or an official designated by the TD, such as a course director) corrects a players score for other infractions determined after this player had turned in an otherwise correct scorecard.
(3) Late Scorecard. See 804.03 F.
So, by rule, you can't assess penalty strokes anymore. But it would've been 2 strokes to the person who's score was incorrect. You can change the scores to the correct scores, but you can't assess the penalty strokes.

The way i read the rules it says penalty shots can be added by the TD. Does anyone else read it the same way?
Not that i'm wanting to argue or stir things up, but just out of curosity, the TD can still add the 2 penalty throws as per section 2 of that rule....correct? Section 1 of that rule doesn't apply to Section 2 right?
