It's in the works.HOTB will be FAT! FAT! FAT! Look.If we had 69 at the Blowout. Can you imagine what 5k added will pull? That's what we're shooting for. This will be our best tourney of the year. One of the biggest around. We'll be posting it on the Tourney Schedule within a few days.An easy pay registration system will be in place.HOTB will probably need added holes OR another course .I'm serious,I see 150 at HOTB.That will be a safe guess.Shawn,Mitchell,Don't freak. It'll be OK. :D:D:D

Sept 17th and 18th.Open entry will be about $75.00.Added cash goal $3,000 to $5,000. Distance event sat evening.Sponsered by The Golf Nutt.(We'll be on a Driving Range) It's 900 ft long so if anyone wants to catch the wind just right and throw a record shot come on.The driving contest will be a seperate event and doesn't count as an overall type situation. We will own this place,Lights and all.SWEET!!! I've also asked Mayor Ballentine to borrow Almas baskets.Tom Minton has also been contacted about a second course for the weekend. We expect 130 to 150 .We'll need a second course.ANYONE interseted in helping or sponsering etc contact any WAFDA member and fill us in.This tourney is expected to easily make the top 50 in payout for 2006.That is our primary goal.Think we can do it? I say OOOOOOOHHHH YEAHHHHHHHH!!! WAFDA will make it happen. :D:D:D

If you can't get two courses, do tee times. Jose did this in Stillwater when we only had one course and it was great. Golfers going off all day. You could just sit and eat your lunch during break and be watching all of the pros going off on their second round. It was really pretty cool getting to see all of the players throw a few holes.
I think they were sending them off at 9 minutes apart.

Just an Idea. ;)

OK folks,It's about time to start looking at this tourney. The TD (LaMastus) is outta town for a few weekends but that doesn't mean we can't get the ball rolling.Sponsership is needed to make it what we wanted it to be.REMEMBER? We're looking for top 50 in payout. This means everybody needs to get involved.Lets not wait till the last minute to get it rolling.Who's the assistant TD?I forgot.Who's got the sponsership packages?Get em out there.A flyer needs to be made and posted on WAFDA.Pre Reg can begin with a little push.I'm thinkin 100 CFR's could make the pot begin to sweeten up.Raffle tickets have been made right?Who's selling them?C Mon C Mon C Mon,This should be our cadillac,Who's doin what?

I have spoke with several WAFDA members about maybe moving our meeting to the weekend to facilitate more participation, I'm thinking Sunday (next Sunday, 7-16) maybe around 1 p.m., followed by our weekly mini, maybe this would pump up both, we should be able to line out HOTB better then. I'll get a hold of the other board members tonight and make sure when we can make a good quorum and then post on here and make the calls to confirm the meeting time. Shawn should be back on Saturday, he has the raffle tickets and flyers, I can print out more Sponsorship Packages and I have a flyer designed, Entry fees have not been officially set, just a lil ironing out and discussion at the meeting and we should be flying straight at the basket - Ching :)

3902
Jul 10 2006, 05:52 PM
That's what i'm talkin about. This topic should be on the top of our list every day.We should Eat,Breath, and(You know)HOTB till we get this thing pumped up.This one will be(And should be)Our A Tier in the future.Nobody,(And I mean NOBODY)Involved with WAFDA should get off the hook here.Everybody has a part to play .Let's get it done. This needs to be at least a $6,000 to 8,000 TOURNEY.Two courses could be used if we do it right.$4,000 added money and 150 (At least)Players. That's the goal baby

Tom, I have heard some interest in a toddler tourney. What would you think about doing like a 2 or 3 hole thing for LITTLE kids like 3 or 5 and under?
I put a message on Tulsa about my boy being able to throw pretty far for a 2 year old and some people mentioned this idea. Think we could feel it out and see if there is a real interest? I know I could entice Heath to throw all the way to a basket or two!
Just thinking......

War crimes on the road and abroad, impersonation of our VP and dereliction of many other laws - whoever you are, apparently you kidnapped our agent the Paddler and threw him out of the canoe, he's now wandering the wilderness of Canada lost to all, that's alright though because as it turns out the Paddler was actually a double agent, we thought he was our secret mutant weapon SuperDave but as it turned out he was an imposter that kidnapped and did who knows what with SuperDave who originally tried to go guard the border of the US/Canadian border to keep those stinkin Canucks out of the US - So yes we are onto your tricks and shall not be fooled anymore - we are sending our biggest not so secret of a weapon anymore (The Stroker) to intercept you and officially give you a pink slip, 1 super wedgie and wet willies in both of your ears unless you can prove that this is all misinformation planted by the evil Canucks and answer the secret question - What in the heck ever happened to Andy and why won't he build us another DG course?

Hey,
Glad to finally have time to post on the site!!! Getting started at school with all the paperwork for the Special Ed kids is crazy!!! But I think I am finally seeing the end of the stack.

I have REALLY bad news for HOTB, unless you are a junior . My brother-in-law, TreeShark, will not be playing. Ya'll know the story of his left hand and problems, well in band on Monday he was preparing to play and was told to be sure and "Snap" (how ironic) his instrument into position, when he did he lost the grip with the left hand and his instument twisted his right hand around and broke the bone that goes between the index finger and his wrist. So now he is going to have a cast on his right hand!

Being the nice B-in-law I am, I told him he could caddy for me just so he could be close to the action!!! :o:D

No official host hotel, Fort Smith does have a plethora of "cheap - at your own risk places" and there are also plenty of nicer "name brand" places.

for the reg player list? Our TD is Shawn LeMastus, he's not very big on getting on the computer

If you want a total party flop house thing then my house is where you'd want to be. I can only handle 4 or 5 in the house but I have a livable 600 sq. foot basement that can sleep several (bring air matress, ect) and I also have a large back yard for anyone wanting to pitch tents or just sleep under the stars :DI've even coordinated some extra parking with some of my kind neighbors.

anyone interested PM me, I can handle quite a few but obviously there's a capacity limit somewhere....

Post dealt with. Now let's focus on some golf.I would like to say before it all goes down that the efforts of all our local folks are something to be admired. It is with these efforts that we of AR will succeed in our ultimate goal. The unity is obviously catching on.The whole state is aware of our push. It's working. This is something we can all be proud of.I'm excited about this weekend and the year to come.NW Ar,WAFDA,Central Ar,and now even Eastern Ar are on the move.Good job everyone. And thanks for your help and support.11th Annual HOTB should be the best we've seen so far,It will get better.Much Better.Hope to see you all there.Looking forward to it for sure.

I was just curious as to how much added cash there was so people wouldn't drive from far away under a false impression. When HOTB was announced, Tom predicted $3,000-$5,000 added cash. In the AR State Coordinator thread, he said 3 weeks ago that they were pushing $2,000. I just think accountability should take precident over promotion.
So Tom, how much added cash will there be for HOTB?

It matters to me because I'll probably play the event. So I would hope that that "added cash" does exist and does go to the pro payouts and not in someone's pocket. I would rather the experience attract people to an event, not deception. Deception has burned this whole area more than once, and its time for that to stop right now or we'll never get people to come to our events.

As for the goal of making the top 50 I don't think we'll make it.As for the goal amount you'd have to contact LaMastus.See we try to set these "GOALS" in hopes to stir up intrest. We have passed the added cash mark of last years HOTB.See the problem is when we say we're gonna "try" to make these things happen some of you take it as it's gonna happen.Well all I have to say about that is some of us are trying,Others just wanna complain.I did just leave the Golf Nutt with the $250.00 check for the distance. He's providing a golf cart to chase everything down and the driving range is ours from 6:oo pm till we're done.Hey Colin,Maybe you should TRY and run a tourney sometime. But before then try and go Pro.Like Wise said before,Why should it matter.Your gonna collect plastic. We've got some really nice plastic set aside for you. When you get big you can bark like the big boys do ok. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

AlmaWillie
Sep 14 2006, 01:15 PM
I don't think a guy can put odds on that one. 1-1 will sum it up! I talked to "coolhead" last night and he says he has learned to throw straight and putt alot better (what he was needing), but in the conversation I have had with "tournament head" he has been playing tennis tournaments alot, so he has been getting some practice under pressure (what he was needing).
And noone overlok the dark horse "Broken Hand TreeShark", while his hand is broke (his good hand) he did throw last Sunday and played a pretty good round. His holdback will be his Dad, who was not too happy about the throwing idea.
We will all just have to come out and watch it go down!!!

Anyone know of any other Junior division players that are coming out? We need to add them into this scenario!!

The scores are now up for Hell On the Border, http://www.pdga.com/schedule/event.php?TournID=5935 with round ratings.
But it showed the last 9 hole round as par 54 so you need to take 27 from the scores of all players in the final 9 playoff to get their true scores, such as McCoy shot a -26 instead of a -53, and so on. It did not seem to affect the ratings though, no 2000rated rounds or nothing!! :D
Sorry to you guys who played the final 9 to bring you down so fast, but I wanted everyone to know I did not get beat by 45 strokes (it was only 18 /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif )

Thats not the only thing wrong. You have scores entered wrong in the fist round also. I shot a 50 not a 56.

I need you guys to correct that, as it affects round ratings severly.

We are aware of the discrepencies, got entered late last night, we will definitely be double checking everything against the actual score cards and fixing them, as for the inaccurate "to par" when the round descriptions were incorrectly entered we tried to "edit" them and quite simply couldn't figure out how to delete an extra round  Shawn got ahold of Gentry this morning and he'll get that part fixed - this is the first time that Shawn or I have done the online scoring apparently in the past he always mailed it in. Thank you all for your patience...we'll get it right!!

Good to see some women made it to HOTB. Only if there was three, atleast there were women. I am sorry I missed it. I have good reason. I had a baby a month ago.
I will be there next year.

I don't care that I lost Pitch I still made Money. Plus ratings are more fun to keep track of.
