Looks like Ar State Coordinator Position is NOT up for election this year.SO,Your freakin stuck with me :D:D:DAlso tonight at the meeting. An Educational position was filled,This position is considered a board position. The next meetings will focus primarily on our by laws.We have a mission statement that can be used. Then our agreements with BG will be addressed. For the time being,No other issues will be addressed. All board members are being sent examples of our by laws.We will be ready to incorperate them by next tuesday.Another thing discussed last night.Guidelines for WAFDA members.WE of WAFDA as members are to conduct ourselves in a manner according to these new "Rules" so to speak. This matter has been brought to our attention by the actions of a few members. So,In order to protect the integrity of WAFDA these will be put in place.I personally feel that if you can't or won't be a positive force of WAFDA.You shouldn't be a part of us.We welcome everyone to join.We hope the experience of being a part of our association will benefit you and all the others to come in the future.Have a great day everyone!!!

Sounds like I should have been there. Maybe a few things I needed to address or be there for my own protection. (remember I am a teacher of my boys not their parent) If someone will, please give me a PM of the goings on.
Also, who got the educational position? If there is anything I can do to help, I have spoken to alot of the local schools about trying to get in and do some DG promotions. I would be doing it now but I am trying to get all my official teaching licensure stuff finished up.

Come on now guys you know I am goofing around. I'm not mad or nothing but I would like to know what all I missed at the meeting in case it is something I really needed to know.
Also if there is anything to pass on to Thad let me know.
He came by today and said he would like some DG stories to put online, something on Andy maybe?????? People are seeing the Where's / Who's Andy shirts on the gallery and will be wondering.......
Speaking of gallery pics, look at #123 , which was pointed out to me today by a student. It looks like I have my thumb buried up to the palm in my nose . I explained to the student that it is physically impossible for me to sink my thumb that deep into my nostril (not to mention it is too fat for a picker anyway :o) I will hear about this one for a while. I may have to sue WAFDA for slander!!! :D

Anybody have a good one to put out there?
Anyone want to write up an Andy article so the shirts from blowout make sense? I don't know enough of the story or I would.

Joey and Mitchell both were unable to attend the meeting last night, I thought it was around 7:30 when we decided to move the meeting to Braum's. I should've called you because we did'nt have a quorum of board members, I figured you weren't feeling good..., Thad showed up and we basically talked about web design and went over the belle grove exhibit/clinic, the constitution and bylaws aren't officially approved because of not having quorum but several copies were handed out anyway. The next big thing for the board is the seb. co. parks agreement, we've got non-wafda members asking about leagues and mini's, if ben geren turns into a insurance nightmare or simply takes too long we're probably better off just doing it at Alma, It would be neat in my opinion to have mini's sat. at one location, sun. at the other, maybe even 2 leagues or alternating courses for the league, but we have to stay on the counties good side, we don't want to start making WAFDA money off of county land without the agreement.
When's Clarksville gonna be playable? Keep us posted on Alma, we're ready to git r' done.
3902
Apr 26 2006, 05:38 PM
First of all,WAFDA shouldn't make any money off the minis and or leagues. The only tourneys we're talkin about making some money on is the sanctioned events and even those are questionable.Until of course they get so big we have to to cover extra help or whatnot. Now we may gain membership at these events or sell merchandise to help WAFDA.I'm glad you guys got something done last night.Thad has added a few courses to the map.We need more people involved with the site. There are so many things still needing to be done.I don't want to see this standing still.Clarksville and Tommy Eddy are meeting friday to discuss the layout.I trust he'll lay it out as well as anyone else could so it's his baby.I suggested they tack weld those baskets together at the areas they screw together. That'll keep them fron having to tighten them up all the time and make it alot harder to steal.I guess the city is fronting the money for concrete and signs,Sounds good to me.We should have a playable course within a week or two.Same goes for Alma.Next! Russellville!!!

Apr 26 2006, 06:13 PM
Don't misunderstand my statement of WAFDA making money, this hasn't really been discussed, of course entry fee money goes back into payouts, I am referring to a customary 10% or so, to sell merchandise start-up money has to come from somewhere, right now all we got is membership fees - $20, after membership package WAFDA has $9 and some change per member and we know miscellaneous things can add up quick, It is about the Fun of the game, sportsmanship and growing disc golf as a whole - not money - but sad to say - at some point fund raising has to be brought up.

belle grove = fundraising.
3902
Apr 26 2006, 07:53 PM
That's right Dave. This will be an exellent time for fundraising. And Evan I do understand we need enough to push to the next level.I know other clubs are doing it.Everything about last weekend in Tulsa was about raising money.Over $1,000 was paid in Pro entry alone and about half was paid back.Everybody knew what it was for.Nobody complained. So if we of WAFDA want to do a fundraiser i'm sure nobody would complain.I'm sure the support would be there as well.Maybe a tourney purely as a fundraiser needs to happen to really give WAFDA a kick start.Just come up with some cool prizes(Sponsership)And jam the entry fee into the account.I'd pay a $10.00 to $20.00 entry for a chance at a $100.00 prize.Especially if I knew the money was to promote the association. For that matter a YARD SALE would produce alot. It's not hard to raise $1,000 out of a yard sale. Now that we could ALL easily kick into. And I think it would be alot of fun doing it.I've got the perfect place to have it,Fire up the grill,Radio,And what we don't sell donate it to a local charity.Who's in?Who's got a garage full of junk to donate?I know Dave has an old car worth about $50.00 :D

The club should retain 20% of entries and 20% of CTP entries. That alone will add up.
For instance a $5 entry, with $1 of it going to the club and $4 to pay out..
$20 CTP pot, $4 to the club and $16 to payout. Over time this will give the club some real start up money. I know it doesn't sound like much but it is.

Brother-in-law and I stopped at the local football field today and I watched him chunk out a 420' drive, another in the 380' range and several (almost all of the other 15 he threw) right around 350'. He is getting a whopper of an arm on him.
Also he punched out two good rollers, one would've been at least 450' but there were two concrete sidewalks in the way at about 380' and 400' respectively, it jumped the first but the second got it. These were both thrown with a dog-chewed XS (has mudgrippers) :D
He isn't consistent yet with the roller but he'll be giving you run for your money in no time Pitch.

But Best of All ... my wife went out to Ben Geren today and played a full round with me. We had a great time! I shot OK with a +3 but she did really good (for her) with a +22. She figured out an old Stingray I had towards the end and parred 5 of 6 holes in a row until 17 and 18 which she bogeyed and tripled (18 is long for her). What is really great is she ENJOYED it which she hadn't done up until now. So watch out ladies in the near future!! Oh and did I mention SHE IS 7&1/2 MONTHS PREGNANT!!! :D

You're probably right. That's why Arkansas had to build a fort right on the border to protect you Arkies from us low down, no good, cursing, swearing, Okies. ;)

I believe that you need to find a "free picture hosting site". I've used snapdrive.net with good results, there are many sites out there. You then do the Image thing down in the instant UBB code thing and type in the address that the pix is in. Thats the only way I know how, there may be more ways? but I don't know em'. Just don't post any of those pix of you with the mountain goats, there are children on these sites sometimes :DTulsa's board likes those kinda pix though

After having their 10th child, an Arkansas couple decided that was enough.
So the husband went to his doctor and told him that he and his wife didn't
want to have any more children. The doctor told him that there was a procedure
called a vasectomy that could fix the problem. The doctor told the man that he
was to go home, get a cherry bomb, put it in a can, then hold the can up to his
ear and count to 10. The Arky said to the doctor "I may not be the smartest man,
but I don't see how putting a cherry bomb in a can next to my ear is going to help me."
So the couple drove to Missouri to get a second opinion. The doctor was just about
to tell them about the procedure for a vasectomy when he noticed they were from
Arkansas. This doctor also told the man to go home and get a cherry bomb, place it
in a tin can, hold it next to his ear and count to 10.
Figuring that both doctors couldn't be wrong, the man went home, lit a cherry
bomb and put it in a can. He held the can up to his ear and began to count,
"1, 2, 3, 4, 5..." at which point he paused, placed the can between his legs
and resumed counting on his other hand.

Hey guys,
I know it has been a long time since I have done anything, just understand that there is a lot going on right now and I am going to try and do better real soon.
Good news though!! We now have a new woman PDGA member in our area. Guess who?
MY WIFE!!!! Yep, she has gotten into it the last few months. She is getting better all the time. She already has plans to become an official (has the test at home) and to run a women's tournament in the area. Once she found out how involved she could get she was kinda excited.
Anyway, I would like everyone to give her a warm welcome. She is supposed to try and sign up either today or tomorrow. ?Help me out guys!! Please!!!
Hope to see you soon on the courses.

I have been using www.icdsoft.com (http://www.icdsoft.com) for the past 5 or so years and I LOVE them! They have tons of space and are dirt cheap. I think I have something like 5 or 6 different sites hosted through them.
They are like $70 bucks for the year and you get a gig of space along with everything else that 95% of websites would need! Let me know because you get a discount if I refer you I think!

Pitch is banned from Horseshoe, he's already wimpy and whining :D
Last years event was awesome, one of the best DG times I've experienced!! Snow would be awesome again as long as I can get there in it, I would love to get "trapped" at Horseshoe again
Don't forget Ft. Smith's Ice Bowl on Feb. 10th, bringing it home to "historic" Tilles Park, its a 9 hole so I'm having to cap it at 50 players, plus the "city" is wanting to keep it around that number for insurance type reasons not to mention obvious speed of play issues - I don't want to get into "flights" on my 1st TD experience and definitely want to do 2 rounds of 18, I just hope that we can fill the course with 50 players. (pre-reg will be recommended).I'm in the process of finalizing some sponsorship for "players pack" (no promises yet) but I should be posting the official flyer with info early next week here and at wafda.org - its gonna be for sure economical, fun and for a good cause :)
