Just got Home from Playing.....Back is very Wet, 11 basket is in the right..just don't go left. Water is running fast...casual Play is Heavy....had groups, a least two, jump in front of me on 10 as I was playing 9....ended up walking around checking out the course after 11...will be back in the morning before the BB games come on...

Going to be a nice weekend for golf at the Z, a few Z folks will be gone to the 13th TSC in Missouri TX, good luck! We plan to do some Z-baoz trash detail Saturday morning, anyone wanting to help great if not that's fine too, we can handle it.

Well looks like the City finally made a decision, the dirt parking area has been wired off all the way around, no in or out for anyone, parking lot parking only, this means my trash detail contribution to the back nine IS OVER! THE CITY CAN CAN HAVE IT! I JUST BECAME A PLAYER AND NOT COURSE CARE TAKER, thanks FTW PARKS for making it difficult to take care of your land!!!!!! Your on Your own now!!

They wired the parking lot. So the dirt area is not accessible except through the gate. I imagine there must have been some sort of incident that spurred the city to action.

The good news is when parking overflows to the streets they may decide to expand the parking lot! :D

Seriously though, we should work with Brian, Brad, and the city to get access back for the locals.

Hole 1 all the way to the trail coming off of 18 is blocked with wire and poles, now I did not touch the wire for frear it would shock me like a cow crossing into another farmers pasture. lol!

just make sure you arent by yourself when you do that, for real

it's in the approach, I didn't say be an arse about it, just explain that Z Boaz could easily face the same situation that Bear Creek is in currently
or get a number from the parks dept that we could call if we needed to enlist the help from some of Fort Worth's finest, but once we start down that road, there are some other golfers that will need to look at responsibility from a personal standpoint

Dont take me wrong I understand the need for the cable with the riff raff that has moved their way onto the course, cutting it was a bad thing to do. I was just bitter about the limit placed on parking.

Took a Trip to check out the Mud, I mean Course. Just Played 10, 11, and 12.

So 10 has been moved to the Right. Walking down I see 9 is now in the Short. At 11 Tee I see the Basket is now in the Center position with a Ton of Water to the Left. After I walked out in the Water to get my Disc I went to a watery 12 Tee and see the Basket is now in the Long. I walk 13 just to get to 14 which has a Nice Creek and a Muddy Hillside. I decide to walk in and check out One, I'm sure it's been Moved, Nope.

Maybe try and Play tomorrow but it is Pouring at my House...

It may very well already be in the ground by now. We have such a good crew that got the word out fast.

Mickey called me around 6:30 to tell me it was missing. By 8:30 I was already dropping the keys off with David Kinter. He and Mickey and Ken C. were going to get the new bucket assembled and in place as quickly as humanly possible.

Great to hear the speed at which our members can do some good. So, was the lock cut or what? We might need to invest in better locks.

Hats off to Bogie and his crew for the new benches on the front 9 at the Z, this type of dedication continues to improve and make Z-boaz the ultimate 5 STAR players course experience in For Worth area.

I know this would involve some abstract thought , but stick with me here ... You could park in one of the numerous parking lots south of hole 4's tee pad. Cross the street and start on hole 4 .. No parking issues , and a good place to jump out in front of the 15 8'somes on the course...

On Vacation for Colonial so I go Play the Home Z. As I was walking to 10. in the Parking Lot, lies A Star X-Caliber. It had lights on top and Bottom, removed them to looks for Marks...Nothing. If you lost it, tell me the Color and it's yours. All I need is one more Disc my arm isn't big enough to throw, guess I can save it for the next Crowley WIND...

Special Request: Please keep an eye out for two stolen baskets, they were stolen from the Weatherford DGC on Saturday, June 20th around 10pm.
The descriptions are as follows, both are DGA Mach III's. The first one is the practice basket with the DGA logo on the nuber plate and various stickers on the pole inside the chain assembly. The second is Hole 18's basket with the number 18 in bright red on the number plate.

As many of you know, last Saturday, June 20th, two baskets were stolen from Weatherford DGC.
At this time we only have 174.00 in our course fund due to the recent transfer of over two thousand dollars for cement teeboxes. We cannot afford the replacement costs at this time so instead of the normal mini on Saturday, July 4th, we will be running a fundraising mini.
This will be a singles event with the ace pot in effect, along with CTP's. We will try to have CTP's for all eighteen holes if possible, depending on sponsorship. I will tell you, we have a few autographed discs from Avery, Barry, etc.
It won't all be plastic either as we should have some nice swag throw in as well. The entry will be very reasonable although we haven't finalized that just yet.
The cement teeboxes should be in the ground by the end of July and we would like very much to have these two baskets replaced by that same time but we really need the disc golf community to come together and help us out this time.
I can't thank everyone enough for the early show of support and I hope everyone can make it to this event.

Also, we are looking at an entry fee of 20.00 for now but may lower it before the event.
There will be a max of two CTP's paid per person so as to spread the wealth around.

On another more tragic note, a friend of mine called me today and asked if I knew about someone dying on hole eighteen last Sunday, June 21st.
He said nobody knew who he was and that they thought he either had a heat stroke or a heart attack.
Does anyone know who the person was and if there is anything we can do for the family?
He was supposedly around 40, which makes you stop and think when you're my age.

On that note, the heat is here for a while, drink plenty of water and take it easy while you're on the course. Also, Keep an eye on your friends so we can all throw another day.

His name was Reggie Finley and he was playing with his son at the time. The Arlington club is trying to come up with something to raise a little money for the family. Apparently this has become a large burden financially as well as emotionally.

Thanks for the info Skip. Please keep us posted on whatever the club comes up with. We would like to help if possible.

The Weatherford July 4th Fundraiser will start at 9am, sign ups at 8am. $20.00 entry and close to $1000.00 in prizes for CTP's on every hole. Maximum CTP's are two per person so at least nine different winners. All money from the entries will go directly to replace the two stolen baskets. Please join us for this special event.

As of Sunday July 12th the start time for our weekly mini will change to 6pm.Sign ups will be taken betwen 5:15 and 5:45.If you are late signing up there will be a 5.00 late fee that goes directly to the ace pot.We will do whatever we can do to get us on the course and playing golf by 6pm sharp.If we have straglers that will be next to impossible.So please be there early to sign up.
The format will be bring your partner the second Sunday of every month with singles the remaining Sundays.We will resume the 3pm start when the heat subsides or when we start running out of daylight.

Once again, we are heading out to Veterans Park in beautiful Arlington, TX in the dead of summer to throw some discs.

This year's event is scheduled as two one-day, C-Tier sanctioned events, with all Advanced and Recreational divisions on Saturday, July 18, and all Pro and Intermediate divisions on Sunday, July 19.

All players who are ratings-eligible may play both days in any divisions for which they qualify. Maximum of 90 players each day.

Open Men & Open Women: $52
Pro Masters, Grandmasters: $42
All Advanced Divisions: $32
All Intermediate and Recreational: $22

As far as the format goes, since we will be playing in the dog days of summer, I plan to take it easy on all of you. We will play one round from the short (Wednesday night) tees, and one round from the concrete tees.

This crap needs to stop. That's like ten baskets stolen in the DFW area this year alone. Take some responsibilty and turn in the guilty party. Someon has to know something.

Let me pose a simple question, "If you are friends with the thief or thieves in question, how long do you think you'll be friends, and how long before they steal something from you"?

Notice: The Weatherford Ice Bowl benefitting the Pythian Home in Weatherford, a local childrens home. Our goal is to donate $1000 and 500 pounds of dry/canned goods. The tourney is scheduled for February 20, 2010.
The entry is $25 per person and will benefit the charity. We are still finalizing the players package, more information to follow. Please rememer to bring food for their pantry as they rely on donations for operating expenses.
