I was wondering, since this is the first event on the EDGE program funded course (partially), are the Reading's going to be there to open this in style ????? :)

If not the EDGE program is missing a wonderful opportunity to promote this program to the general public !!!!!

No the Readings won't be making it, it cost money for them to travel, ect. and we can't afford the appearance fee

However, I will be there and will sell sign autographs for a small fee, actually it might be a large fee depending on who it is :D

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I do have 1 real announcement about this event though,

We are setting up an awesome skills challenge (several stations where you perform various disc related tasks and are scored) this is included with entry and we will provide some trophies to the top finishers :)

I'm still wondering !!!!! Did I hear some where that WAFDA raised more money for the EDGE program than any other affiliate club in the nation or did I hear that Arkansas raised more money for the EDGE program than any state in the nation !!!!!!!!

If so, than I don't think asking if a pro (especially the ones that promote the EDGE program) will be at the opening of one of the EDGE program courses to be outrageous to ask !!!!!!

If they can't be at the opening, than at least swing bye on their way through to one of the NT's that they will be attending !!!! This is the reward for being the TOP fundraiser in the nation and that doesn't seem to unreasonable !!!!!!

Maybe a clinic at the Middle School in Alma, Trinity Junior High, and Greenwood Junior High would be a good start at giving back to the community that promotes the EDGE program to the general public !!!!!!!!

Just a thought !!!!!!!!

True - WAFDA and the players that contributed through our fundraising initiatives raised more in 2010 for EDGE than anyone else

I'm sure that IF and when Jay is around the area that he would love to run clinics, ect.

Until then, we're gonna showcase this great course to the players of the area on May 7th :)

Players Pack for 1st 50 players (contact Eric to reg) consists of 1 custom printed disc, choice between Pro Wraith or JK Aviar, Mini and Decal

If we go over 50 we will do our best to supply a stock DX or Pro disc - the players pack reflects $7 of entry fee (roughly wholesale cost) with rest to payout , we will add payout for Juniors and Ladies :)

Huge Thanks to the EDGE program - they have added 25 EDGE stamped discs to be used for players packs for the kids!!

We're at over 15 kids planning on playing right now - we will be doing an introduction to the sport and guiding them thru the skills challenge and then time to play a round of disc golf

we will be doing that while the 1st round of Non-Newbie Players is happening, there are a few kids in the School Program that aren't Newbies!!

I'm getting exited about the possibilities of growing the sport on May 7th :D

Hello DGers,

I want to personally thank Tony Blanchard and Roger Knight for coming out tonight and helping me get AMS DGC ready for this weekend. :) It's just about ready and I hope everyone enjoys themselves Saturday or any other chance you get to play this beautiful, fun course. It's still a work in progress, but it's getting real close to being finished.

See you on the course,

Geat job Evan! And Savage and Roger and Tony and Wafda and everyone involved with putting this course together and putting on this grand opening. This is a super course, I'm looking for some amazing golfers to be developed right on that piece of property. And what a great start with the Juniors clinic. Our sport is only going to reach main-stream by bringing more kids into the game and Evan and WAFDA do as good a job as anyone in the country at making that happen. Thank you all.

Stacey, Sara, Myah and I all had a great time. Thank you Sunshine for hanging with the girls all day and letting the two of us play. If it werent for you it wouldn't have happened for us, thank you again.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks everyone for coming out and supporting the Alma Middle School Course!!

I apologize for not having scores up yet, had to work yesterday and am pulling a real long day today also

cool thing is the only reason I got on the board was to let people know that there is a real good chance that this coming Friday (5-13) that we'll be putting another school course in the ground at Trinity (baskets are in) :)

Just got off the phone with them and we're thinking Friday after school, supposed to have an auger, ect., as plans solidify I'll pass the info along - any and all help is appreciated, We've knocked out 9 holes in a few hours before

Hello DGers,

Well, the maintance crew; me, was out this afternoon prepping the tee boxes, the greens around the baskets, and the over-all care of the course for the 3rd Annual A.C. Hopefully we won't see to much rain the next two days and by Sunday the course will be ready to play. Hope you are planning to come and help the AMS Disc Golf Club. I'd like to one day buy the kids new disc like a three disc sets instead of the skeeters they throw now. This will be a good time. Thanks, Savage
