ESPN2 Announces Broadcast Date for 2020 Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship
ESPN2 will air a two-hour special presentation of the 2020 Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship during its 8pm Eastern prime time slot on Tuesday, November 24, following NFL Live.
The Thanksgiving week program will feature footage from the final day of competition, which saw Kevin Jones (MPO) and Hailey King (FPO) claim dramatic victories as well as record-setting winner’s checks.
It will be DGPT’s second foray into the mainstream media market, following August’s CBS Sports Network broadcast of the Dynamic Discs Open. And like the CBSSN broadcast, ESPN2’s coverage will feature a post-produced program that combines highlight footage from the competition along with commentary and insight designed to introduce the sport to viewers.
ESPN2 is the fourth-largest cable sports channel, averaging 304,000 primetime viewers in 2019, and the broadcast, which will be twice as long as the CBSSN broadcast, and will presumably reach more viewers, represents yet another significant advance for DGPT and the sport of disc golf in 2020.
