2024 PDGA Junior Worlds — Final Recap

It was a banner week at the 2024 PDGA Junior Disc Golf World Championships, one full of fun and highly-competitive play throughout the 10-division, 456-player field

There were big wins, repeat performances, redemption stories and battles that came down to the very end.

Here's a quick look around 2024 Junior Worlds:

  • Ryan Monn was dominant throughout the week as he claimed his second PDGA Major title of 2024, adding to his USADGC title. Monn averaged 1023 golf and won by 11 strokes in MJ18. He'll look for a sweep later this year at Am Worlds.
  • FJ18 was a battle all week with as no lead was greater than three strokes. Kayla Hess entered the chat on the final 9, birdieing four-straight and taking the win by one stroke.
  • Austin Yoder rose to the top of the leaderboard with a 1001-rated round Saturday morning in the semifinals and held on for a two-stroke win in MJ15.
  • Therese Cuevas had a one-stroke lead after Round 4, after the semifinals and ended with a trophy in her hand with a two-stroke win in FJ15.
  • A year ago, Taaniel Mehine finished second. This year, he's heading back to Estonia with a title after a dominant win in MJ12. Mehine averaged 972 for the week and won by 14 strokes.
  • Eva Lutsenko took down the FJ12 title on the very last hole, carding a birdie to complete the comeback win.
  • Canada's Nikko Forbes had a share of the lead, the outright lead or was within one stroke all week in MJ10. He carded three-straight birdies during the final 9 and walked away with a one-stroke win.
  • New Zealand's Sarah Wadsworth repeated with a dominant 18-stroke win in FJ10.
  • Cody Buker and Keely Bain both completed wire-to-wire wins in MJ08 and FJ08, respectively.
