2023 PDGA Pro Worlds Round 3 MPO Recap
There are 18 players with six strokes of the lead heading into Moving Day at the 2023 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships presented by L.L.Bean.
Welcome to the weekend and what promises to be an incredible finish at Smugglers’ Notch in Vermont.
Cole Redalen dropped a 9-under round from the chase card to jump to the solo lead — a slim one-stroke advantage — in the final round on Brewster Ridge on Friday.
Redalen, just a weeks removed from his first Elite Series win at the DGPT - Ledgestone Open, went 100% from C1X and dropped in three from Circle 2 as well as an 88-foot throw-in to save a par. He scrambled successfully in three of four attempts in the woods of Brewster.
Chris Dickerson started strong with birdies on six of his first seven holes and is one stroke back in solo second place.
Isaac Robinson and James Proctor both birdied the first six holes on their way to 9-under rounds to join the lead card in a tie for third with Anthony Barela, who will lead the chase card.
The biggest move of the day came from Finland’s Lauri Lehtinen who climbed 25 spots with a course-record-tying 13-under park, checking in with a 1089 rating. Lehtinen went bogey-free and is in solo sixth place at 23-under.
The number of players at 20-under or better includes a big jump from Alden Harris (10-under, T7), Calvin Heimburg (9-under, T9), Simon Lizotte (6-under, T9) and Paul McBeth (8-under, T15), among several others who are squarely in contention with two rounds to go.
Action shifts to Fox Run Meadows for the final two rounds and the stage is set for an incredible finish to crown a PDGA World Champion.
