FPO
On one hand, Ohn Scoggins (-7), Kat Mertsch (-6) and Missy Gannon (-5) are each alone in their positions, and clear of the rest of the field by two.
On the other hand, 19 of 48 FPO players are at even par or better.
It’s a setup for storylines at the DGPT Elite+ 2024 Portland Open presented by Latitude 64.

The first story of note concerns the one lead-cardmember not yet named… Paige Pierce (-3). After a slow, patient rehab from an injury that cost Pierce half of the 2023 season, she has worked her way back into form in the early months of 2024. She’ll lead the charge of a quintet of chasers, all at 3-under-par heading into Friday’s second round.

Coming off his only outside-the-top-10 finish of the 2024 season (a 13th at the OTB Open), Gannon Buhr stayed bogey free after the second hole en route to a 10-under effort. An eagle at the par-4 fourth hold helped Buhr seize momentum he would never give up.
Drew Gibson has had a very different start to his season, finishing outside the top 50 in every DGPT event in which he’s played. Gibson – seeking to flip that script – is off to the right kind of start this week. His 8-under round has him in second place heading into Friday.
Randon Latta (-7), fresh off a podium finish at the OTB Open, rounds out the lead card – his first ever at an Elite event – with Calvin Heimburg (-7).
