How to Watch the DGPT All-Star Weekend

Day 2 of the Exhibition Shifts to Singles

As the excitement builds heading into what promises to be an action-packed and thrilling 2021 disc golf season, the Disc Golf Pro Tour All-Star Weekend should get you more than primed heading into the first weekend of action.

The two-day exhibition event, featuring 16 of the top players in the game at a familiar place, kicks off Saturday live on the Disc Golf Network.

But there are twists. Yes, plural.

Here's everything you need to know about the DGPT's All-Star Weekend:

The Field

The 2021 All Stars were determined by the final standings from the 2020 Disc Golf Pro Tour.

Seeding is as follows:

  5. Chris Dickerson
  6. Kevin Jones
  7. Garrett Gurthie
  8. James Conrad

FPO

  1. Paige Pierce

The Format

Saturday's action will be doubles, paired off by seeding, with the front nine using 'Best Shot' format and the back nine played as 'Tough Shot.'

Here are the pairings for doubles:

MPO

  • McBeth - Conrad
  • Heimburg - Gurthie
  • Wysocki - Jones
  • McMahon - Dickerson

FPO

  • Pierce - Young
  • Allen - Panis
  • Hokom - Weese
  • King - Gannon

Scores from doubles will carry over into Sunday's singles action.

The Course

The players will take on a safari layout at the historic Fountain Hills Disc Golf Course in Fountain Hills, Arizona. Each round will consist of two runs through the modified layout.

The Coverage

The All-Star Weekend will air exclusively on Disc Golf Network. Live coverage begins each day at 1 p.m. EST. Nate Doss and Valarie Doss will join Terry Miller on commentary and Jamie Thomas will be on hand as a sideline reporter.

There will be no post-production coverage of the event, although on demand replays will be available on DGN.

The DGN offers a PDGA member discount of 50% to all active members, bringing the cost down to $4.49/month.

The Beginning

This weekend's action is just a primer as the PDGA Elite Series kicks off Feb. 25 at the Las Vegas Challenge.

On the course map, the MPO pars are 30, and the holes add up to 30. The FPO par says 31, but the holes add up to 33. What is correct?

The rebroadcast from today's action is still not available to paying customers on the Disc Golf Network. Rebroadcasts are expected almost immediately after the live stream goes off...Help please!
