PDGA Continues Fight Against Breast Cancer

Wednesday, October 1, 2014 - 18:26

The PDGA is continuing its initiative this year to increase women’s participation in disc golf events while raising money for an extremely important cause, the fight against breast cancer. During the month of October, the PDGA pledges to donate two dollars to the Young Survival Coalition for every female that plays in a PDGA sanctioned event.

This fundraising effort was started in October of last year and was extremely successful thanks in part to the help of Prodigy Disc. In 2013, there were 625 female participants in PDGA sanctioned events during the month of October that raised a total of $1250 from the PDGA. Prodigy stepped up and matched this donation through the sale of special edition pink discs, bringing the total donated to $2500.

This year, with the help of the United States Women’s Disc Golf Championship’s raffle and silent auction set up by Tournament Directors, Old Man and Mom Wallis, the PDGA already has collected $612 for this noble cause. We believe that number can and will be higher than the total amount we raised last year. With your help, we can make that happen.
