The second round of the Waco Annual Charity Open was windier than the first, and, between the two leaders, only one was able to replicate her score in their second go-round. Despite the up-and-down nature of Sarah Hokom’s second round, it was both good enough to match her score from round one and make gains on Paige Pierce’s lead.

2016 USDGC champion Jeremy Koling used a scorching hot 9-under front nine to take the opening day lead at the 2017 Waco Annual Charity Open with a 13-under par 54 on Thursday.

Paige Pierce made quite the statement after her Memorial Championship win two weeks ago, suggesting that she doesn’t think she will lose this year unless she allows either herself or the course take her down. And, yesterday, in the first round of the Waco Annual Charity Open, she backed that up with another excellent performance, preliminarily rated at 1013.

Pierce went off, carding birdies on nine holes—by far the most in the field—en route to a 7-under par 60 first round. The 1013 rated round is already her third round rated above 1000 and her seventh rated over 990 this season.
