The first of seven PDGA Majors on this year’s slate, the 2018 Amateur World Doubles Championships, tees off today in Mt. Vernon, Texas. With 87 teams spread out over four John Houck-designed courses at two properties – the renowned Selah Ranch and Trey Texas Ranch – the 15th iteration of the event serves as a unique opening to the championship calendar. Teams mix in three common doubles formats over their first four rounds of play, with those surviving until Sunday’s finals being faced with the widow maker: four holes of Worst Throw. Hold onto your hats.

Steve Hill and Sara Lamberson preview this week’s Jonesboro Open (4:52), the third event on the Disc Golf Pro Tour. Lisa Fajkus shares a putting tip (16:32) before Arkansas native Kevin Jones stops by for a chat (17:22). Steve and Sara make their picks (33:00), then look at Am Worlds Doubles in Texas (38:14) and Sara’s own charity doubles event in South Carolina (47:47). Finally, they discuss disc golf manufacturers’ April Fools jokes (52:25) before sharing Last Week in Disc Golf History (58:55).
