The third and final round of the Preserve Championship was allowed to proceed as normal, as the smoke from the wildfires in Canada moved away from Clearwater, MN. And from competitors to viewers, all were lucky this was the case, as we had quite a memorable and tense final day of competition at the Elite Series event.
As the smoke filled the air from the northwest, the players at the Preserve Championship teed off for the second round of action in Clearwater, MN. As the air quality worsened and the wind picked up, players found the conditions considerably worse than in round one.
Despite the poor conditions, both divisions provided some great disc golf to watch and made for some exciting action across all cards.
The Disc Golf Pro Tour continues its path eastward with the next stop in Clearwater, MN for the Preserve Championship. Designed by Prodigy Discs Co-founder, Cale Leiviska, the beautiful, sprawling course is as picturesque as it is challenging. For the DGPT Elite Series event, both divisions will be playing the Black Bear course layout. The MPO will play a Par-65 10,806-ft layout, and the FPO a Par-66 9,874-ft one.
