Emily Beach grew up around the sport, but it took a little while for her to come around to it.

Once she did, she found role models and success and now, in her busiest season yet, Beach is turning in a consistent year competing with the best of the best.

“I started playing competitively in 2013, but my dad has been playing since 1985 so I was born around disc golf,” Beach said. “It took a little while for me to get into the game and I honestly didn’t like disc golf for a while, but I warmed up to it.”

Texas native Chandler Kramer had a breakout run through Europe. Photo: DGPT

Chandler Kramer swears he has a backhand.

Over the past two breakout weeks for the tour rookie, it hasn’t been necessary.

Kramer made noise overseas, first finishing fifth at the PDGA Euro Tour – PCS Sula Open presented by Innova and then following that up with a fifth-place finish at the PDGA Major European Open presented by Discmania, using just his forehand in the process.

Including a massive time change and a few thousand miles, Paige Pierce quickly went back to work.

Pierce was in Michigan preparing for the Discraft Great Lakes Open immediately on Monday after her record-setting 17th PDGA Major win at the European Open on Sunday.

It’s a quick turnaround for much of the field.
