In 2023, the PDGA Masters Disc Golf World Championship will be a combined event between the professional and amateur masters divisions at a site with plenty of disc golf history.
The work begins now to reach Flagstaff, Arizona, which also played host to the 2003 PDGA Pro World Championships.

Six years ago, at 10 years old, Evan Scott learned the sport of disc golf from watching YouTube.
Ten months ago, Ali Smith entered her first PDGA sanctioned tournament — which she won — after feeling the desire to throw a disc again after retiring from ultimate.
“I feel a little nervous — it’s the last couple of rounds and the nerves start kicking in a little bit,” Sam Dodd said. “The first few rounds, you’re just trying to stay steady.
The Professional Disc Golf Association released the Bid Guidelines for PDGA Major Events for events in the years 2014 and 2015 in April of 2012. The PDGA created these bid guideline packages to assist prospective communities in presenting their case for hosting one of disc golf’s showcase events and lays out the guidelines on how to prepare a bid to host a PDGA Major.
