Dear PDGA Member,
Congratulations! You have earned an invite to challenge the best amateur disc golfers in the world at the 2022 PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championships in Princeton, Indiana during the week of June 18th through June 25th. The PDGA, Ace Eagle Disc Golf Club and Dads Fore Disc Golf are ready to show you what Hoosier Hospitality is all about.
The 2022 Amateur World Championship is a collaboration between two Southern Indiana 501(c)(3) organizations. Both the Ace Eagles Disc Golf Club Inc. and Dads Fore Disc Golf share common interest in building relationships with the communities through Disc Golf. The Ace Eagles DGC has a broad reach across Indiana, Kentucky, and Southeast Illinois when it comes to promoting disc golf. Dads Fore Disc Golf recently went on a course building spree around the Princeton Indiana area, as well as introducing disc golf to local school programs and raising money through the sport for various charities.
Jason LaBella and Steven Waites have headed the growth of competitive disc golf in Indiana and are looking forward to hosting players in this event as the Tournament Directors. Jason serves as State Coordinator for Indiana as well as a member of the PDGA Rules Committee.
Steven is on the board for both non-profits partnering on this event as well as being Tournament Director for several of Southwest Indiana’s biggest tournaments. Steven, Jason, and the event staff are all excited to crown the next FA1 and MA1 World Champions.
Princeton, IN will play host to the player meeting, field games, tournament rounds and social events. Evansville, IN will host tournament rounds, the Ace Challenge at Bosse Field and more. Between the two cities along US 41, there are plenty of hotels, and restaurants to support the possible world champions. Petersburg, IN, just up Interstate 69, will host tournament rounds and has a campground onsite.
We are looking forward to hosting you at Amateur Worlds!
Steven Waites & Jason LaBella

The Courses
Four Courses are in play for 2022 Amateur Worlds, and they will challenge each part of your game.
Princeton Country Club, established in 2018, was built for championships. Built on a golf course, PCC has a lot of elevation changes with baskets guarded by trees, golf greens, water and OB. Throwing far is fun here, but the summer sun and winds coming across the course make shot placement on the green key. Many of the basket locations were intentionally chosen in spots where skips and roll-aways are an enemy to contend with. When stepping onto the 18th tee you are faced with a 1,022-foot Par 5 with water guarding the basket for the last 200 feet.
The Mesker Hybrid Course is in the Mesker Park Complex which has two 18-hole courses on the property. Mesker Park, the original course, is your typical park layout with towering old oaks spread throughout with an open layout. Mesker Woods was recently installed and is in stark contrast to the Mesker Park Course. Long wooded fairways with multiple elevation changes (sometimes on the same hole) will test your control and shot shaping. The Mesker Hybrid course will combine the best sites and challenges of both courses into the layout used for Worlds.
Prides Creek Park* in Petersburg, IN is a championship level course with water in play on 12 of the holes. This moderately hilly & lightly wooded course will test your patience and courage. It sometimes feels like there is not a putt that isn’t looking at the lake. What is the wind doing today? That’s the question you will want to know before starting your round. Wind and water await you at Prides Creek Park. Hole 1 was recently voted as the “Best Hole 1” in the state. This course has ranked in the top five for Indiana since it was built.
Haubstadt Johnson DGC is the fourth course in the schedule. Built in 2019, this is the youngest course in the event. This heavily wooded course has the tightest fairways in the lineup. Holes 11, 12, 13, and 18 will allow you some breathing space with wide open fields but everything else will keep you grounded. The course starts you off with a 303- foot straight tunnel shot and finishes with a 455-foot Par 3 with OB on both sides.
