How the Invite Process Works
Primary Worlds Division
A member's Primary Worlds Division is based on their class, gender, and age and is the division they will be invited to play in at Worlds if they meet one of the above criteria. Examples of Primary Worlds Divisions for Amateurs at Junior Worlds are:
Turning age 16-18 on their birthday in 2025 = MJ18 or FJ18; Turning age 13-15 on their birthday in 2025 = MJ15 or FJ15; etc.
Primary Worlds Division Invite Process
A member's Primary Worlds Division Invite for Junior Worlds uses ALL of their 2024 earned Amateur points (regardless of the amateur division they earned the points in), to meet the points requirement for the player's 2025 Primary Worlds Division for Junior Worlds. This process allows for members to still receive an invite for Worlds even if they had aged into a new age bracket for which they may not have earned points in the previous year.
Additional Primary Worlds Mixed Division Invite Process for Female Members
Any eligible US female member age 11-18 on their birthday in 2025 will have ALL of their 2024 Amateur Mixed division points count towards Primary Worlds Mixed Division Invite for the mixed division corresponding to their Primary Worlds Division. (Example: if an FJ15 player for 2025, the corresponding 2025 mixed division would be MJ15.)
Secondary Worlds Invite Process
The process for an invite to a division at Junior Worlds other than the member's Primary Worlds Division, uses only those 2024 points earned while actually playing in the specific division to meet that division's points requirement.
Examples of the overall Worlds points invite process:
An eligible 2024 US member who is male and turns age 14 on his birthday in 2025 had earned 800 points playing MA1, 210 points playing MJ18, and 50 points playing MJ15 during the 2024 Tour year.
- Since their Primary Worlds Division is MJ15 for 2025, they receive a Primary Invite for MJ15 because ALL of their Amateur points (1,060) equals at least the 100 point requirement for an MJ15 Primary Invite (even though they had less than 100 points playing in MJ15.)
- They also receive a Secondary Worlds Invite for the MJ18 division because they had 210 points actually playing in the MJ18 division which met the Secondary Worlds Invite requirement of 200 points for that division.
- They do NOT receive a Secondary Worlds Invite for the 2025 Amateur Worlds for MA1 because they had not earned 2,000 points while actually playing in MA1. Only if their player rating meets the ratings requirement for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 invite to Amateur Worlds would they receive an invite to Amateur Worlds.
ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT NOTES: Invitees are subject to all eligibility requirements per Competition Manual 1.01, and nothing in this invitation shall be construed to create a right of the recipient to participate in this event.
- An invitation to register for Worlds does NOT guarantee a berth at Worlds. Timely registration is still required to get in.
- ONLY 2024 CURRENT Amateur members (prior to 12/15/2024) earn 2024 Amateur points towards 2025 Junior Worlds invites.
- ONLY 2024 Amateur points count toward a 2025 Junior Worlds invite; Pro points earned playing in Pro divisions do not count.
- Members must maintain their amateur status until after the 2025 Junior World Championships or they will no longer be eligible to participate.
- All players registering for the 2025 PDGA Junior Disc Golf World Championships must be a current 2025 PDGA Amateur member and a Certified Rules Official through the last date of the event before they can register for the event.
