Still one of my favorite courses. Good mix of wooded and open holes. Some nice elevation changes. Signage is getting better all the time. Long Layout is super challenging. But you need a local to show it to you.

I have been playing Anson B. since 2004 or so and the previous comments/issues/concerns from years past are no longer current issues. "This is a great course with multiple layouts, open holes, wooded holes, some OB. It can be super scoreable, or a challenge to make par depending on the layout, and your experience.

New signage has made the biggest criticism of Anson a problem of the past!!

There is a lot of potential for this to be a fun, challenging course; nice mix of terrain and some elevation changes, fairly technical, and a generally nice park setting. Having said that, the course is not terribly well marked. It's obvious that it's currently under renovations. There are temporary tees, and the baskets aren't always marked well (or correctly).

If you can, check this course out with someone who knows it fairly well.

I've been playing for over 14 years and have seen a few courses as poorly marked as A.B.Nixon. Good luck finding Tee pad #2 if you've never been here before and have no one around to guide you. I found this same trouble on many holes at Nixon. The lack of care and maintenence of the course sadly reflects the lack of interest in evolving this sport to respectability. I am happy to see that so many locals have gravitated to disc golf at Nixon in spite of the conditions. I doubt I will return to Nixon. Is this the response you want people to have? At the least please consider installing adequate guiding signs so new visitors can know where they are going.

This is a nice course despite the fact that it is built in and around old garbage dump.
There is an active dump nearby and when you are playing the back 9 on week days before 3:30 pm you can see and hear the big machines working on the horizon.
Nice mix of short medium and long fairways. Very small elevation changes mostly flat. First 9 holes are fairly well marked and then it goes downhill from there. Some holes have no signs at all and most don't say what is par.
There are some very unusual hazards for example on hole two there is a pet cemetery.
if you throw in the rough you may find yourself tiptoeing among headstones bearing names such as a little missy and fluffy.
I've played of course twice and neither time has been the same. I've heard the same complaints from other golfers since.
Most of the fairways are through the woods. However 2 or 3 of the fairways are along the edge of a soccer field out in the open.
The tee for 14 is not marked but i've been using the water valve sticking out of the groun.d painted blue.
This concludes my report. Cleared for takeoff.
I heard a rumor that tee for 15 is moving up on to the top of the hill.
