Description

In beautiful Longford Park on the site of a former pitch and putt golf course. The park is situated on the border of Stretford and Chorlton-cum-Hardy - easily reached by public transport from Manchester City Centre. Making good use of limited space there are 18 varied holes including some new hills, a stone circle and over 1000 new trees. Dual tee layout - the red tees and the longer blue tees. No cost to play. The course was funded by Veolia Environmental Trust and Thrive Trafford, and working with Trafford Council, The Friends of Longford Park and DUFFA.

Directions

Public Transport fom Manchester City Centre; Take the tram (towards Altrincham) and alight at Old Trafford stop. Walk SW down Trent Bridge Walk to Great Stone Rd, turn left to The Quadrant. See the Beacon Centre / Firswood Community Centre (M32 8QS) - park entrance is to the right. Alternatively the #15 bus from Piccadilly Gardens goes straight to the Quadrant, Stretford. Parking Free parking is available within the park right next to the course. Just head for the entrance just off Ryebank Road (follow the signs for Longford Stadium, postcode M21 9TA).
