Course Reviews
Palmetto Bay Village Center (PBVC) is a unique disc golf course that is a work in progress. It is a challenging course that runs around the perimeter of the property. This was once the HQ for the 'Home of the Whopper' and was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew in 1992. It has been restored and is a marvelous corporate park setting with lush landscaping and a well mowed and maintained golfing area. The course is one that all skill levels will enjoy but some may want to avoid throws over the crocodile filled lagoon! Upgrades are continuing with hope that we will be able to have better tee pads in 2016. Course markers and maps are also in the works as hole positions are finalized and currently there are plans for 21 holes. Hole #1 Tees off from the southeasternmost corner of the property. Tees are marked with white landscape markers and each basket is numbered. For all players who want to try out PBVC when visiting S. Florida, remember this is a Private Property and we are here by the good graces of the owners and property manager. So, do not litter and be on your best behavior when playing this venue.....it will help keep it open for all to enjoy. :)

So after learning to play in the north east, this was my first outing on a local course in Miami, and I must say, I am quite impressed. This is a challenging course, but not impossible. I had to do some looking but was able to find the first tee box. My recommendation is to park on the south side of the complex, near what is the 1st basket.
The first couple holes are easy to follow, but I struggled to find 3. I played back towards the unmarked basket on the little hill near where I was parked and have looked at a map since I got home and it turns out that was 3. Holes 5 through 8 are in the woods and very tricky. Enjoyed 9 and 10, 11 could not find tee box but played from what seemed to make sense and 12 is very good. 13's basket, however is located in a wooden alcove and could be the hole of the course, except a huge branch has collapsed and blocks access to the basket. 15 - 18 all have water in play and the lake swallowed my driver on 18 :-(.
With some cleaning up of the tee areas and clearer markings, this could be a 4 out 5 star course. Just needs a little TLC. But now that I have played it, I will definitely be going back.
