After the redesign of this course putting the new hole 1 in the back parking lot near the soccer field, management installed new baskets which are much more visible in the shadows of the woods. Hole 2 has about 100' of elevation change and a sharp dogleg to the right. The rest of the course is just as wooded, but much easier to play, so don't give up after 2.

I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to develop their technical game.

I have been playing this course for many years since it is one of my favorites and it is practically in my back yard. A mixed and challenging course. Lots of long and short shots, different elevations, and left and right turns. Most pins have three locations and the long ones are a real challenge to par. A few alternate tees too. Water hazards comes in to play on three holes and you can lose your disc. The course has been redesigned in the last few years, so if you haven't played it in a while, give it another chance. The fairways have been cleared of weeds and most of the holes I didn't like have been relocated and are much better.

This course is a hidden gem. Hole one has not only bathrooms, but a concession stand. A spigot 20 feet from the tee box is handy to fill your water bottles.
There is a sign directing you to hole 1, but oddly there is no sign AT hole 1. I guess it was so obvious (it is) that a sign was not needed?
From there on, there are so many "next tee" signs that is was starting to get sarcastic. Literally, two "Hole 12" arrow signs that were 45 feet apart, both signs easily visible at the same time:)
Lots of benches and garbage cans. A very well designed and maintained course.
I also enjoyed the vast variety of shots. Uphills, downhills, straight shots, lefties... some requiring control, due to tight lanes.
Most of the rough had very defined paths; this course gets lots of regular play (and people have been looking for discs here for a long time!).
Lots of roll-away putting greens. If you haven't gotten a roll-away at Sequoyah, you have been laying up.
Hole 13 is OLD SCHOOL. Two lanes. One so tight (but fair) that the other lane looks very enticing. Lane 2 plays big righty hyzer, and you are looking to skip it off the road.
I didn't find holes 14 and 15, but when I ran into some locals, they informed me that "they ARE there, just tucked back a bit, in the woods".
Not the longest course in the world, but plenty of SWEET holes.
I'm from the midwest, so that's my perspective... if you like Kaposia Park or Cliff Drive, you will love Sequoyah.

Course was very poorly marked, only a few holes had tee signs so you had to guess where the basket was on most. Very short and boring. I do not recommend this course to anyone.
