Course Reviews
Wow, I'm really surprised that no one has reviewed this course, it has BUFFALO!!! Well, not on the course, but there is a single fence between you and a herd of bison! I think that's pretty awesome aaand wierd and random. The course layout is pretty good with a decent amount of up, down and around shots varying from a few short shots up and over a hill to one straight wide open bomb. It's a blast to play. The tee's are a little funky because they're short from the standard size so your run-up needs to either start before you step on it or finish off of the concrete tee in front of it. They are pretty cool tee's in that they put engraved bricks of sponsors or who they dedicate the hole to, actually in the tee pad, but they should have sprung for the extra yard of concrete and made them to standard size. The course has a few challenges in figuring out where some of the holes are and where your next tee pad is. There are signs at every tee. With that said, they are mostly hand made signs, which are very cool one-of-a-kinds but not always the most helpful when they move the basket or the landscape is not like the picture from groundskeepers changing things up. (Cutting down a major tree!) I think the main thing they could do is put in a few next tee signs or a small note on the basket to help out those playing it for the first time. I walked the course before playing and generally thats a solid practice but if you dont have the time, you want to get out and play and not be frustrated trying to find the next hole or basket. There is definitely some water in play and after a heavy rain I could imagine it could be A LOT of water in play, but I didn't have any issues and it rained the night before. There are two small ponds along a few shots and also a small creek behind/along the few shots that are across the road from the majority of the course. If you don't get into the shrubs you would never even know it was there, but you WILL NOT get your disc if you throw into this body of water without taking a big likelyhood chance of getting bit. The water is that dark stagnant color and looks deep, yeah that's a big ol NOPE if I throw in there. A $10-15 disc is totally theirs and they can have it. The park offers a lot of different outdoors activities and is worth a look-see. The hole par-scale that they suggest is very par-able and if you play a lot you might just stick with the par 3 rule, and if you don't play a lot, stick to their suggestions and you're going to feel like you played the best day of your life and your dream of playing pro might not just be a dream. hahaha! I gave it 5 chains because it's such a fun course. I could see a major tourney played here if it hasn't already. The setting is spread out for the most part and there is a good variety of wide open to more controlled shots. This is not a very wooded course and if that's your game Shelby State Park or Latimer Lakes will fit your bill perfectly. This course will challenge your longer game drives and approaches. After you're all done with the course there are hammocks set up across the road and also down by the lake that you can chill out in and recap how awesome you did. Maybe walk down to the buffalo or to the boathouse that is supposed to have a wide selection of DG discs. They were closed when I played, so I can't speak to that but this course was a great experience and one that I will play over and over when I come back to Memphis. FYI the grass is pretty darn tall and I don't know if that's the norm or not, so when you bomb it with your drive, keep an eye on it or you might spend a while searching for your disc. Have fun!

This is a good course with tons of potential. The layout gets 5 links. There is a good mix for lefties and righties. Longs and shorts. Mostly open with some trees to contend with. The water hazards were non-existent today; but, they appeared to be seasonal.
Course maps and signs get 1 link. I’ve never played this course and the layout was different than the map which caused a lot of confusion. Signs are non-existent.
Tee pads get 1 link. They are small and in terrible shape.
The baskets get 3 links. They’re discatchers, but they’ve been abused over the years and several really lean.
The local players get 5 links. They were friendly and helpful.
The scenery was beautiful. With a little love and elbow grease, this course could be vastly improved. Overall experience deserves 3 links.
