PDGA Tournament Manager Help: Messages in Digital Scorecard

Tournament Manager offers the ability to send messages to the players via Digital Scorecard. These messages can be classified as Info, Alert, or Emergency.

  • These messages only appear on Digital Scorecard for players who are actively logged in and looking at their scorecard.
  • They do not notify players who have switched to a different application or put their phone away.
  • They do not ring or buzz the phone.
  • They do not appear on the PDGA Live scoring page and are not visible to the public.
  • These messages should not be used in place of a loud alarm system if there is an emergency.

Messages remain active until you delete them.

INFO Messages

Info messages are best used for non-urgent items that are informational to the players. These could be messages about the location of water or bathrooms, information about CTPs or other side games, etc.

  • Digital Scorecard displays a message bar at the top of the player's scorecard.
  • Players can dismiss the message bar by tapping it.
  • Players can view the message again by tapping the bell icon in the upper right of their scorecard.

EMERGENCY Messages

Emergency messages are high priority items that all players need to urgently know. These are emergency items like lightning or other dangerous conditions. If the players need to evacuate the course, be sure to use another method to alert the players, like an air horn, and do not rely solely on this message. Remember, the players only see these messages when they are actively looking at the scorecard, which typically only happens at the end of a hole. If they are in the middle of playing a hole, they might not look at their phones until several minutes after you have sent the message.

  • Digital Scorecard displays a pop-up message over the top of the scorecard.
  • Digital Scorecard displays a message bar at the top of the player's scorecard, highlighted in red.
  • Players CANNOT dismiss the message bar.
  • Players can view the message again by tapping the bell icon in the upper right of their scorecard.
