2024 DGPT Championship — Round 3 Recap

Saturday, October 19, 2024 - 23:24

There's a good chance there will be at least one back-to-back winner of the Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship presented by Barbasol.

Ricky Wysocki's quest for a three-peat is looking solid as he opened up a six-stroke lead on Saturday at Matt Keats Memorial Course at Nevin Park.

The FPO division will be a fight to the finish.

2023 Championship winnerr Missy Gannon will be chasing a new leader — Ohn Scoggins — as well as battling Kristin Tattar if she hopes to cash another impressive check in Charlotte.

Gannon made a charge on Saturday, hitting 10-under before a double bogey and three-stroke swing put Scoggins, who closed with a bogey, ahead by one stroke heading into Championship Sunday. Both finished with the hot rounds of the day at 8-under.

Tied with Gannon one stroke back in second is Tattar, who cooled off with a 4-under day. Silva Saarinen turned in a 7-under round to jump four spots into solo fourth and is five back of Tattar and Gannon.

Scoggins with 91% on fairway hits, led in C2 in regulation at 83% and had 350 feet of total putts.

Wysocki doesn't have a blemish through three rounds at Nevin Park and it will take more than one on Sunday for the three-peat to be denied.

The 2022 and 2023 Championship winner finished in double digits for the second-straight day and is bogey-free on the weekend as he opened up a six-stroke lead over Gannon Buhr.

It was another stellar day from the tee to the green for Wysocki, who led in C2 in regulation, scrambled successfully five times and went 11-for-11 from C1X with three more C2 hits. Wysocki has 1,222 feet of total putts through three rounds.

Buhr went 5-under on Saturday and is in solo second place by seven strokes over Ezra Robinson. Niklas Anttila rounds out the Championship Sunday lead card in solo fourth place.
