Each year, the Masters Cup in Santa Cruz, California provides disc golfers fortunate enough to be involved one of their happiest moments of the year. The initial drive up the winding road that leads to both DeLaveaga Golf Course and DeLaveaga DGC evokes a true sense of awe and elation. For those that make the trek for the first time, it’s difficult to even accept the reality that somehow you’re about to play disc golf here.

The 2017 Glass Blown Open competitors, staff, and spectators alike couldn’t have asked for a much better experience than the one had today at Jones East Park. Blessed by sunny, 70-degree weather with minimal wind, a massive gallery crowded the park to watch the best disc golfers in the world crush drives and smash chains on “moving day”.
Round 1 of the 2017 Glass Blown Open (GBO) was full of surprises. Courses touted as “gold level” or “championship” are often torn to shreds when the big guns show up, but the Eagle Disc Golf Course in Olpe lived up to its reputation despite uncharacteristically calm course conditions. The standard (forecasted, even) wind and rain that a spring day in Kansas typically sees remained mostly unseen throughout the day.
2017 Beaver State Fling presented by KEEN Footwear & Next Adventure
A PDGA National Tour event
Stumptown Disc Golf is pleased to announce the 2017 Beaver State Fling on the weekend of June 9th - 11th, 2017. Once again the Beaver State Fling staff will be partnering with KEEN Footwear and Next Adventure to bring you this PDGA National Tour Elite Series event. As in the past players will be tested by two challenging 18 hole courses playing along the Clackamas River at Milo McIver State Park in Estacada, Oregon.
Series points from a player’s top four PDGA National Tour finishes from the first five events plus the points from the 2017 Disc Golf Hall of Fame Classic are totaled to determine the National Tour Elite Series Champion. Players that competed in all of the first five events will have their lowest score dropped. In those cases, the dropped score will be crossed out in the table below, as it does not count towards the score in their Total column.
To kick off the start of its 15th season, we are extremely excited to announce a new and drastically improved/increased payout for the 2017 PDGA National Tour Elite Series.
If a moment could be represented in the form of an entire year, 2016 would be a defining moment for disc golf. On top of having record growth once again in both PDGA membership and events, the sport saw new levels of media exposure, new well-organized professional tours, new distance world records, and so much more. No matter which moment or moments defined disc golf in 2016 for you, there’s no denying that it was an incredible year.
The 2017 PDGA Majors and National Tour Schedule has been posted below. In 2017 there will be ten PDGA Majors in the North America, Australia and Europe and six National Tour Events in the United States.
