The Product Manager at the PDGA plays a crucial role in leading the product development life cycle.  This individual will integrate the needs of customers, stakeholders, and the organization to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services that enhance the sport of disc golf.  The Product Manager will work closely with the technical team at the PDGA to ensure our digital experiences are well-defined and performing as expected.

Background: The Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) is a player-run international nonprofit organization. There are 6 staff members based at the international headquarters in Appling, Georgia, USA and additional staff members who work remotely. The PDGA, with over 100,000 active members and hundreds of volunteers, is the governing body for the sport of disc golf, and sanctions competitive events for men and women of every skill level from novice to professional. Position Summary:  The Product Manager at the PDGA plays a crucial role in leading the product development life cycle.  This individual will integrate the needs of customers, stakeholders, and the organization to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services that enhance the sport of disc golf.  The Product Manager will work closely with the technical team at the PDGA to ensure our digital experiences are well-defined and performing as expected. 

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the Product Development Life Cycle

  • Oversee all phases of the product development process, from ideation to lauch
  • Ensure timely delivery of product milestones and releases
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product goals with organizational strategy

Integrate Customer, Stakeholder, and Organizational Needs

  • Gather and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders, and internal teams
  • Prioritize features and enhancements based on user needs, market trends, and business objectives
  • Maintain a customer-centric approach to product development, ensuring products meed and exceed user expectations

Provide Clear Requirements and User Stories to the Development Team

  • Create detailed product requirements, specifications, and user stories
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure a thorough understanding of requirements
  • Monitor progress and provide ongoing support to the development team, addressing any questions or issues that arise

Product Strategy and Vision

  • Develop and communicate a clear product vision and roadmap
  • Identify market opportunities and define product strategies to capitalize on them
  • Conduct competitive analysis to inform product positioning and differentiation

Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration

  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal product-related inquiries
  • Facilitate regular updates and presentations to stakeholders on product progress and performance
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for product initiatives

Performance Tracking and Improvement

  • Define and track key performance metrics for product success
  • Analyze product performance data to identify areas for improvement
  • Implement changes and enhancements to optimize product performance and user satisfaction

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of product development processes and methodologies
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities
  • Passion for the sport of disc golf and a deep understanding of the disc golf community is a plus

Other Requirements:

  • Successful candidate may be required to work flexible hours and weekends
  • Minimal expenses-paid travel may be required
  • Must be eligible to work in the US and have a valid Driver License for driving within the US
  • Must sign and agree to the terms of the PDGA's employee non-disclosure agreement and conflict of interest policy
