Round 3 at the European Open was lined up for a great battle in the FPO division between Kristin Tattar and Eveliina Salonen. Going into the round, Tattar had a one-stroke lead after R2, where Salonen missed to opportunity to take the lead after her putting woes on hole 17 yesterday.

But the round never turned out to be a battle between the two, as the 2x World Champion played her worst rated round in 5 years. She only took a single birdie at The Beast and finished her round with a very atypical +8.

That meant that Salonen strolled past her with her round in even par, and now sits with a little cushion of three strokes down to Silva Saarinen, who played a great round of disc golf in Nokia. Even with a bogey and a double bogey, she came in at -5 for the round, taking her to -6 in total and the overall 2nd place.

Kaidi Allsalu climbed a single spot up to T4 with Missy Gannon, both in even par for the event before the final round starts tomorrow.

RECORD DAY FOR BUHR

In the MPO division, things were left undone after yesterday’s weather had delayed the rest of the round until this morning, where play resumed.

Gannon Buhr wasted no time picking up birdies and ended his morning having set the course record at -9.

A few hours later, he and the rest of the MPO field started R3, and Buhr showed no signs of slowing down the pace. And with the hot round of -12, he now sits at -24 in total, three strokes clear of Paul McBeth, who has won a handful of tournaments at this course.

In 3rd we find Ricky Wysocki after his great -10 performance in R3, three strokes clear of Niklas Anttila and Chris Dickerson in T4.

So far this year’s European Open has given us some great disc golf and quite a few surprises, so we are in for an exciting day tomorrow as the Final Round begins.
