Isaac Robinson is in position for a Major accomplishment in a familiar place.

Leading the 2023 PDGA Champions Cup presented by Bushnell by seven strokes heading into Championship Sunday, Robinson is right at home.

“I just feel good this weekend,” Robinson said. “Playing in Georgia, I have support — messages from dozens of people just congratulating me and encouraging me.

“That means the world to me, to play in my home state and have a chance to take this Major title down. That’s what I’m out here to do and I’m not stopping.”

The Georgia native hasn’t stopped at all, firing off back-to-back 11-under rounds and then matching the new course record at W.R. Jackson with a blistering 12-under round on Saturday.

He sits at 34 under par for the event, seven strokes ahead of second place.

“I’m just very focused, very zoned in,” Robinson said. “Each tee shot out there, I feel 100% confident. There’s no question.”

Robinson continues to lead in the major driving statistics — parked (28%), strokes gained tee-to-green (20.74) and Circle 1 in regulation (63%), according to UDisc. He noted that his game.

Behind him are Finland’s Niklas Anttila and James Conrad at 27-under. Anttila, who is second in strokes gained tee-to-green at 15.89, realized the amount of work that it will take to close a seven-stroke gap.

“A lot of work,” Anttila said with a smile. “I’m going for every hole, so 18 down is my goal.”

Mason Ford worked his way to the lead card for Sunday at the International Disc Golf Center and is tied for fourth with Eagle McMahon at 24-under. Matthew Orum, Silas Schultz and Gannon Buhr will join McMahon the lead card.

But they’re all chasing the local favorite, who is chasing his first PDGA Major title right in his own back yard.
