Sayer wins tiebreaker, named 2024 Rookie of the Year

It came down to the wire in the race for the 2024 PDGA MPO Rookie of the Year.
Several players were in contention throughout the year, which ended in a three-way tie between Miles Sayer, Aviel Gomez and Luke Levesque to force a tiebreaker.
In the end, it was a 1064-rated round from Sayer in mid-December that lifted him to the title of PDGA Rookie of the Year.

The Maine native finished second at three A-Tiers throughout the year to give him 30 points in the standings. Gomez finished with two A-Tier wins and Levesque had three podium finishes at A-Tiers in 2024. Two players — Dallas Gerber and Corbin Milchesky — finished with 25 points in the standings.

Overall, Sayer competed in 32 events in his rookie MPO season, including three B-Tier wins. His PDGA player rating rose from 975 in January 2024 to 993 at the end of the year, which was capped and highlighted by his 1064-rated round at the 2024 South Florida Open sponsored by Dynamic Discs.
