Over the course of 54 holes, including a final lap through the daunting Dogwood track where the first PDGA National Tour title of 2021 was up for grabs, King let her game do the talking in typical fashion: Aggressive and relaxed.
But just like her approach to Saturday’s back nine after a heavy rain fell on the Dogwood course in Tyler, King knows that the first PDGA National Tour event of the season is far from over.
Jeremy Koling got his only miscue of the day out of the way early in his round and his bid was enough fuel for the fire. Casey White, meanwhile, connected on a big putt right out of the gate and he was off to the races.

TYLER, Texas — Rebecca Cox stood over her putt on the 18th hole and trusted her game.
It was a plan that had worked out well up until that point, and it continued to hold true until her putter came to rest in the bottom of the 18th basket.

TYLER, Texas – Just over a year ago, the big, gold belt buckles arrived that were going to serve as the Texas-style trophies arrived. The course, like the emblazoned trophy, was shined and ready for the best in the sport to come to town.
“We had everything ready to go – literally the trophies arrived the day before we got the call,” Rose City Disc Club president Steven Sisemore said. “It was wild.”
