How the Invite Process Works for Qualification Criteria #3 based on Amateur Points:

Primary Worlds Division

A member's Primary Worlds Division is based on their class, gender, and age and is the division they will be invited to play in at Worlds if they meet the criteria. Primary Worlds Divisions for PDGA Amateur Worlds are:
Amateur Men who turned age 19-39 on their birthday in 2025 = MA1; Amateur Women who turned age 19-39 on their birthday in 2025 = FA1

IMPORTANT: Only Amateur members who turned age 19-39 on their birthday in 2025 have a Primary Worlds Invite Division of MA1 or FA1 at the 2025 PDGA Amateur World Championships. Amateurs of any other age have their Primary Worlds Division elsewhere.

Primary Worlds Division Invite Process

A player's Primary Worlds Division Invite uses ALL of their 2024 earned Amateur points (regardless of the amateur division they earned the points in) to meet the points requirement for the player's 2025 Primary Worlds Division.

IMPORTANT: This primary invite process ONLY applies to current 2024 amateur members aged 19-39 on their birthday in 2025. An amateur junior-aged player (who turned age 8-18 on their birthday in 2025) will have their invite processed for their Primary Worlds Division for 2025 Junior Worlds. (See the "2025 Junior Worlds - Invitation to Register Criteria" document.) A Pro or Amateur member older than 39 on their birthday in 2025 will have their invite processed for their Primary Worlds Division for 2025 Master Worlds (See the "2025 Master Worlds - Invitation to Register Criteria" document.)

Additional Primary Worlds Mixed Division Invite Process for Female Members

Any eligible US female FA1 member will have ALL of their 2024 Amateur Mixed division points count towards a 2025 Mixed Division Invite for the mixed division corresponding to their Primary Worlds Division (MA1.) Any International or Canadian female member earning an invite through criteria #5 or #6 will receive a corresponding Mixed Division invite if they had earned any Mixed Division points during 2024.

IMPORTANT: Only Female Amateur members who turned age 19-39 on their birthday in 2025 have a Primary Worlds Invite Division of FA1 at the 2025 PDGA Amateur Worlds and the potential for an additional Primary Worlds Mixed Division Invite for MA1. Female Amateurs of any other age have their Primary Worlds Division and Additional Primary Worlds Mixed Division elsewhere.

Secondary Worlds Invite Process

The process for an invite to any division other than a member's Primary Worlds Division or Additonal Primary Worlds Mixed Division, uses only those 2024 points earned while actually playing in the specific division to meet that division's points requirement.

IMPORTANT: This Secondary Worlds Invite Process is the ONLY way a current 2024 amateur member below the age of 19 or above the age of 39 (on their birthday in 2025) can earn an invite to 2025 PDGA Amateur Worlds if they don't meet the ratings minimum of Invitation Criteria #1 or #2. To do so, they MUST either earn 2,000 points while actually playing in MA1 during 2024, or 100 points while actually playing in FA1 during 2024.

Examples of the overall Worlds points invite process:

A 2024 eligible member who is female and turned age 19-39 on their birthday in 2025, had earned 80 points playing in FA1, 70 points playing in FA2, 510 points playing MA2, and 1500 points playing MA3 during 2024.

  • Since their Primary Worlds Division is FA1, all of their Amateur points (2160) count and they earn an invite to FA1 even though they didn't earn 100 points while actually playing in FA1.
  • Since they had over 2000 points (510 + 1500) playing in Mixed Divisions, they will receive an Addiitonal Primary Worlds Mixed Division Invite for MA1.
  • They don't earn a Secondary Worlds Invite as the FA2, MA2, and MA3 divisions are not offered at Worlds.

A 2024 eligible member who is male and turned age 52 on their birthday in 2025, had earned 350 points playing MA50, 1,010 points playing MA40, and 1,000 points playing MA1.

  • Since their Primary Worlds Division is MA50, they earn a Primary Worlds Invite to Masters Worlds for MA50 because ALL of their Amateur points (2,360) equaled at least the 500 point requirement for MA50 (even though they had less than 500 playing in MA50.)
  • They also receives a Secondary Worlds Invite for the MA40 division at Masters Worlds because they had 1,010 points actually playing in the MA40 division which met the requirement of 1,000 points for that division.
  • They do NOT receive a Secondary Invite for the MA1 division at Amateur Worlds as they only had 1,000 points playing
in the MA1 division and the requirement was 2,000 points. Only if their rating was high enough for Criteria #1 or #2, would they receive an MA1 invite to Amateur Worlds.

ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT NOTES: Invitees are subject to all eligibility requirements per Competition Manual 1.01, and nothing in this invitation shall be construed to create a right of the recipient to participate in this event.

  • An invitation to register for Worlds does NOT guarantee a berth at Worlds. Timely registration is still required to get in.
  • ONLY 2024 CURRENT Amateur members (prior to 12/15/2024) earn 2024 Amateur points towards a Worlds invite.
  • ONLY 2024 Amateur points count towards a 2025 Amateur Worlds invite; Pro points earned in Pro divisions do not count.
  • Members must maintain amateur status until after the 2025 PDGA Amateur World Championships or they won't be eligible to participate.
  • All players registering for the 2025 PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championships must be a current 2025 PDGA Amateur member AND a Certified Rules Official with an expiration date after the end of the event before they can register for the event.
