For the fourth time this season, Anthony Barela is an Elite Series winner.

For the first time in FPO Elite Series history, Emily Weatherman is a chase card winner.

Both feats happened after a sprint to the finish at the 2024 Disc Golf Pro Tour — TruBank Des Moines Challenge presented by DGA on Sunday.

Weatherman was calm and clutch under pressure with a clean 8-under, bogey-free round to become the first chase card winner in Elite Series history, according to StatMando.

The 18-year-old entered Sunday five strokes out of the lead, but after an ice-in-her-veins finale — including clutch putts on 17 and 18 to seal it — she hoisted an Elite Series trophy just 122 days after her first DGPT event.

16-year-old Eliezra Midtlyng turned in a 4-under finale, the third-hottest round of the day, for her best DGPT career finish in a tie for second with Natalie Ryan.

Barela's gap was only two strokes entering the day behind Adam Hammes, and he took off from the gate.

With a 63-foot make on Hole 4 in what would be a 7-for-7 start, Barela tied in things up with Hammes and two the went back and forth into the back nine. Gannon Buhr was applying pressure from the chase card and, after a slow start, Matthew Orum entered the conversation.

But Barela buckled down with four-straight birdies on the back nine as Hammes and the others cooled for his fourth DGPT win of the season.

Orum finished in solo second two strokes back and Buhr rounded out the podium as the field moves on to the European swing of the season.
