Making Moves
Nearly 900 players got a chance at redemption on Thursday throughout Emporia.
Round 3 of the 2024 PDGA Masters Disc Golf World Championships had players return to the course where they kicked off the week looking to improve or back up their first-round showing.
It's wasn't officially moving day — that happens Friday before the cut to Saturday morning's semifinal rounds — but there were plenty of moves throughout the leaderboards.
Looking for the four-peat in MP60, Tim Keith jumped to a one-stroke lead. That's the same margin for new MP65 leader Bill Rohe as well as Sweden's Jonas Pärtma in MA50.
Four divisions have ties — Tita Ulgade shot the hot round in FP65 to pull to a tie with Janice Jones. In FA55, Angie Jones had the hot round and is a co-leader with Kim King. David Cossette shot 41 points above is rating and is tied with Scott Conner in MA65. Rob Lee and Robert Burton both jumped three spots to the top in MA75.
In MP40, Joe Rovere kept his foot to the pedal and now leads the loaded division by nine stokes with a 1061-rated third round at Champion's Landing. Same goes for Ohn Scoggins in FP40 as her lead now sits at 10 strokes.
Brian Schweberger held on to his lead, but now the margin is just one stroke after a 1032-rated day from JohnE McCray at Kanza View. They shift to Champion's Landing, where both shot a 64 on Wednesday.
