So far on the agenda are...
1. Club T-shirt status.
2. Treasurers report and IRS non profit status.
3. June mini and tournament schedule.
4. Fifth street course clean up day.
Any other topics which need discussed can be brought forward after the main agenda has been completed.
Thank You,

The NINJA, KWAH, and the BOOM are headed to Lago tomorrow  Leaving at 8:00 or so and try to TEE off by 10:00.
Anybody else game???????? If so bring it. :D
Joey....I have not been able to find any information on camping at LCRA...Point Venture. I also checked to see if it was a Army Corp of Engineers park. The closest place I found to park the Donkey is at Idyll Glen RV Park in Lago Vista. I don't believe they allow tent camping though. Let me know if you have any more info, I'll be making our reservations on Tuesday. Have fun out there, we will be baking in the Houston sun tomorrow.:cool:

Went to Lago today and played. It was great! The course is in great shape.
The campground is called Arkansas Bend Park. Checked it out today. Very primitive but they do allow RV's.
(No Hookups). There are 2 porta jons and no showers but it is only 12 miniutes from the course and it is on Lake Travis. Swimming within 30 feet of many camp sites. You could probably find an area to park the Donkey. Let us know if you go there. IF we go it will not be until Saturday morning.
Thanks for the info...I think we will stay at the RV park, hope to see you there, if not, we will give you a call on Monday and most likely come on to Temple.
Oh by the way...check out the tourney results, yes...Kenney did finish 2nd with a fantastic +4 for the day.

Hey Temple lets go to Lago this weekend!
A great Tournament for a great cause! :D
The Kwah man and myself are probably leaving Saturday morning. There is a cool campground 12 minutes from the course on Lake Travis.(Arkansas Bend Park).
Very rustic and primitive with swimming within a few feet of your camp. No showers or bathrooms just Port A Jons.
Camp fee $15.00 per vehicle.
The tournament is going to be great. 3 rounds of 21 and a final 9 on Sunday for those who make the cut.
You can register on Friday PM or Saturday morning before 8:30.
Check out the thread! :)

Hey everybody we are getting closer to the addition of the back 9 baskets at Lions. :D
We will soon be collecting sponsorship money from our few but dedicated and gracious sponsors. :D
We are still short a few bucks :( so if anyone knows anybody or a company who is interested in sponsorship lets us know.
Sponsorship is $325.00 per sponsored hole.
All sponsors will get an assigned hole which will be visable by the general public while driving through the park. At the Tee box we will post the sponsors sign which we will supply.
We are also currently discussing the possiblity of some additional benefits and items for our sponsors.
Please contact Rocco, Keela, Christin, or myself for more details.

We'll I went 16 hrs without eating or drinking anything and they bring me the smallest bowl of chicken broth that came with with orange jello, which I don't like anything orange flavor. Then finnally at 11pm they brought me a ham sandwich which would have made 23hrs of basically no food. I'm sorry but chicken broth is not food. It's flovored water.....so yea I was a little biatchy!!!! Friday was alot better when they brought bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, coffee, and orange juice!!! I was in a little better mood then!!!!! :D

JasonChaffin
Oct 12 2006, 07:10 PM
Random draw. 9 holes played twice to make it 18. Exit Midway off I35, right at light then right at 1st road you come to. You will go roughly 2 to 3 miles on this road until you reach Lions softball complex, after the softball complex take a right then a left to go up the hill. Hole 1 will be just past the swimming pool. Hope this helps, dont know the cost.
Joey sorry i cant make it, i have softball tournament at Lions...Will see yall out there though.

Cost is $8.00 per person for open and $5.00 per person for am. If we have only a few we ussually pair up big arm/short arm and everyone pays $5.00. Random draw with 2 formats played. Ace pot for individual is just over $100.00.

The Temple Disc Golf Association will be working on the Lions Park course the first two weekends in December.
Saturday December 2nd. 8:00am- We will be building forms for the new tee boxes. If anyone has experience at this please try to make it out. We have 16 forms to build. We will also be doing some minor trimming. Please bring any tools for these tasks if you have some. If we do not finish the forms on Saturday we will finish them on Sunday the 3rd.
Saturday December 9th 8:00am.- We will be pouring the tee boxes and drilling the holes for the tee post signs and the basket sleeves. We will also be pouring cement for the posts and basket sleeves. We have at our disposal a hand auger and a tractor with auger. We will have 3 to 4 crews working at the same time. We could use some extra wheelbarrows if anyone has some. It's going to be a task to get all of this done in one day...If we do baskets will be put into the ground on Sunday the 10th. If not we will attempt to finish the course on Saturday and Sunday December 16th and 17th.
If the weather is bad on any of these planned days the work will be rescheduled.

The dirt work to level the ground within the forms did not get done. Some of our volunteers will be doing this task during the week. This must be done before we can pour the boxes.

The Saturday Mini at Lions set for the 20th has been cancelled. :(
On Saturday the 13th most of the lower part of Lions Park was under water.
Basket 3's yellow rim on the island hole was barely visible. The water went down on Sunday and all the baskets and tee signs were still standing but holes 2 and 3 are a lake now. :(
The park has been closed since the 13th.
With all the wet weather we have had and more to come I don't see Lions playable for a week or so unless you have a canoe and scuba gear.
I will post more info later.

Actually Lions is a good rain course with the hills and the retention pond but 9 inches of rain in one day kinda pushed it over it's limit
Checked out the course today and it is very playable. :)
There is a little water on hole 3 where you walk to the basket and a few puddles on 4's fairway.
We are supposed to get more rain on Saturday but not much I hope.
We are going to Lions on Sunday to play...the weather is supposed to be nice! :D
The Mini's are cancelled for this weekend and have been rescheduled for next weekend if the weather is good.
Saturday the 27th - Lions Park, 10:00am.
Sunday the 28th - 5th st. course, 10:00am.

good times this past Sunday at both Temple courses, keep up the great work TDGA, wish more girls would of made it so Lala could of played with more, but I'm sure we'll see a great turn out at the tourney in a couple of weeks(hint)
When Robert(Soda) launched that Orc on hole 6 at the Rotary course I thought it would never come down, I think that hole was 623', he crushed it 90' from the pin. What do they feed those guys in the Army these days?
Look forward to playing there on the 24th, Lions park is King!
Again thanks for the good times!

The Texas Womens Championship 2007 is April 21 & 22; we are interested in Texas club participation of this event. In the past clubs sponsored with merchandise and with man power. We want to see this continue. We want to challenge each club to send the most women from their area. We are trying to break the women only attendance record and what better place than Texas. We can use volunteers to escort, disc golf merchandise for ctps, a Texas size player packs, and anything surrounding lady golf. Something I would like to see our club sponsored girly stations. The club could pick a hole to set up a canopy with water, face wipes, candies and club hospitality towards the players.
The question is not if you are interested, but how you are interested in help.
Contact myself or Ed Coffey to work out the logistics. This is our ladies weekend. So lets honor them with our support! Let us know your ideas, we maybe the tournament directors, but the event is Texas owned.
