As all of you know the "Tour De Disc Golf" put on by Chris Himing will take place Thursday March 2nd at 6:30 pm at Lions Park. It will be night golf so bring glow discs or get the LED lights from Academy in the fishing department to tape to your discs.
Chris said if we have at least 20 people participate there will be a basket raffled off to one of the participants at this event.
I would like to set up a temporary 9 hole course so that we can have 18 holes. I am off all day on that Thursday so I will be there most the day for preparation. Any help would be greatly appreciatiated. I have plenty of pin flags to mark off temporary tee boxes.
We need 9 portable baskets to complete this course. Following is a list of people that I know have baskets. If you are on this list please let me know if you can bring your basket out sometime Thursday. I would like to set up the course as early as possible so that we can all play it some.
Joey Roper-1
Jordon-2
Christin-1
Rocco-1
Ken Barber-1
Simon-1
jimi Kwah-1
Doug-1
That makes 9 baskets.
If you are on this list and can not bring your basket please let me know soon.
Thank You,

Well so far it looks like we will have enough temp baskets for the extended course at Lions for the TDDG.
The only problem is getting the baskets. Some folks have baskets but might not make the tourney or might not be there till late in the afternoon.
I am asking these folks if they could possible bring their baskets to a central location early in the week before Thursday. Lets say Christin's house if it's OK with Christin, Or even possible bringing them to the mini this Sunday.
I would like to set up the course mid day on Thursday so we can all play it.
If this happens please mark your baskets with your initials on ALL PARTS OF THE BASKETS with a sharpie.
We can discuss this further at the mini this Sunday.
Thank You,

Just a few reminders for Thursday....
Everyone try to get some lights for your discs. You can get them at Academy in the fishing department by the bobbers. Chris might have some but I don't know how many he will have.
Everyone please bring a flashlight.
We will have the grill going around 4:00pm so bring what you want to cook.
Remember there are no glass containers allowed in Temple Parks so bring canned beverages.
The park closes at 11:00pm and we have the pavillion till 10:30pm. Sign up by 6:00pm so that we can get out of the park before closing.(We will have to collect the temp baskets before we leave).
Chris will have the THUNDER and it is loaded with the newest discs on the market. Don't miss this chance to buy some new plastic.
Also Texas 7 event #1 in Waco Saturday. Sign up on titledisc before it closes Thursday night if you can.

Great Timing Chain Chinger! I was just going to post something about hoping some of the Temple Women would come out to the Snow Farm to play.
We already have one advanced womens team and one rec womens team, with one more from each division in the works, but we know there are a lot of Temple women. This is a very fun, camp-out tournament on a good course, and well certainly treat the ladies right. :D
There will be other women out there as well, camping out with boyfriends/spouses and we will even have one or two or three playing in the some of the mens divisions with a male partner.
Thanks!

This is from Cheis Himing off the TEXAS 7 FARWELL TOUR thread.
I began playing Frisbee back in 1983 when I was just 15 years old. Since then I have traveled to over 40 countries, competed in 7 countries on 3 continents, won many Australian titles and even a World title. I have lived all over the world and experienced many incredible things along the way.
I have lived in Texas for the last 8 years and had a great time, living and working disc golf. 6 years ago I started the Texas 10 Charity Tour and nothing has been the same since. My involvement with the Lance Armstrong Foundation has been a strong motivating force in doing what I do. I am very proud of what we as Disc Golfers have accomplished in terms of support and donations for the Foundation.
This week I was honored by the Lance Armstrong Foundation and was asked to become a LiveStrong Mentor for the 2006 fundraising season. I will begin training in a few weeks to work for the LAF to assist, motivate and inspire other people in their fundraising efforts. This is an unpaid volunteer position but one I am very honored to be asked to do.
That is the good news. Now, my other news.
After 8 years in the USA, the US government has decided that I need to head back to Australia. As of mid October this year I will return home. Both my visa and passport expire early in 2007. I very much doubt I will be returning to the USA anytime soon. After much thinking and soul searching I plan on leaving here in mid October and stopping off in Japan to visit some friends and check out the work market. I will then head home to catch up with family and friends. After a Summer of getting back into the swing of Australian life I will decide what to do.
Disc Golf in Australia has slowly grown in the last few years with a few new courses. Maybe if I am lucky I can make some real money and apply what I have learnt here to help Disc Golf in Australia. Maybe even host a major international event in a few years. It would be awesome to see all my US friends on my home soil.
Before I leave in October I plan on making the 2006 Texas 10 Charity Tour the very best yet. I hope to give away at least $30,000 at the finals Hole-in-One, along with many other cool things. I hope that you will help me make 2006 the best year yet and let me go out in style. In the coming weeks I have meetings with a couple of large companies that may help make this year the big one. I will persist in seeking the support these large corporations until Disc Golf gets the attention it deserves.
Before the year is over I will be selling the Disc Golf Thunder, all my merchandise, naming rights to my events and my online websites. If anyone is interested in these please let me know.
Please note that I plan on making 2006 a great year and making it a year to remember. I honestly dont know where I will be this time next year but I can guarantee I will be still involved in Disc Golf.

Temple Disc Golf Association Meeting
3-25-06
* Resignation of Dyer-Makers: Dyer-Makers will no longer be holding the 4th Saturday mini's.
* Bag Tags: We have decided on having the laminated plastic bag tags. (like TWC tags) Keela will have the tags ready for all the new and current members at the 4th Saturday mini, April 22nd.
* Tee-shirts: Rocco has the final color of the tee-shirts. Artwork on the back will be the state of Texas with a basket where Temple is located. The TDGA logo will be on the front of the tee-shirt. The shirts will also be done in a few weeks. Members will get one of the shirts with there membership. The shirts will also be available for sale. The prices should range form $10-$12 depending on the cost of the shirts.
*Lions park continuation: We are currently waiting on the paperwork from the IRS, to finish with the other 9 baskets. Rocco will be getting the sponsorship list from Dyer-makers to finish out some of the tee-signs. We also need to look into rounding off the sharp edges on the tee-signs.
*Planning a Work day: Putting in short boxes on holes 2 & 5. This will be done when we start the boxes for the back 9.
*Lions Park mini: Tournament director...Joey Roper. Also need back up to run mini's if Joey can't make it due to work.. We are also changing the mini's to the 3rd Saturday of every month. This will start in May. The April mini will be the 4th Saturday on the 22nd. Rocco's mini will be singles only at Rotary as usual. Joey's mini will be doubles format at Lions with two categories offered. We will draw cards for partners. No flipping! The prices for doubles will be $5 per person AM , $8 per person OPEN & $2 ace pot.
*Club funding.: Entry to mini's will stay the same price, but the club will take $1.00 for each entry instead of 10%. All payouts will be cash, no merchandise for payouts.
*2nd Sunday mini has been changed to next Sunday April 2nd. because of Am Doubles. (Don't forget to set your clocks up on Saturday night for Daylight Savings Time!)
*Weekday mini's: Jordan talked about running league minis on a point system with a prize at the end of the league. We will discuss more in a couple of months.
*Disc golf festival: Scottie...not at meeting...will discuss @ next meeting if Scottie shows up..
*New meeting schedule: We will have meetings every two months instead of every quarter. The next meeting will be held at Lions Park 5/20/06 after the mini.
*Teaching clinics: Nick is interested in having teaching clinics. This will be discussed and planned at the next meeting.
*TWC sponsorship: Dyer-Makers will still sponsor the ladies. Keela will be getting everything together for them.
Thank you,
Joey Roper
TDGA President

All of his discs have a designated number, his name, PDGA number, the weight and type of disc, and a triangle symbol with 3 dots in it.
Some very special discs... One is a red and yello dyed orc with a dragon on it that I got from Mark Hazzle and gave to Nick for his birthday. Aviar putters, Rocs, Orcs, TeeBirds, and more.
Don't forget about the Master's Cup being held in May at Snow Farm. You must be OLD...40 yrs and older to participate.
This is a great opportunity to support Randon after the fire that destroyed 2 of his guest buildings.
Registration is available at TitleDisc.com
For all you YOUNGINS, there are plenty of opportunities to volunteer and support your MASTERS.
This is going to be a PARTY!!!!!! :) ;) :p
Hope everyone has a Happy Easter!!
Went and played 5th street in the 30mph wind today....from the longs  Christin did pretty good and i did okay. Enjoyed playin a round of DG with Joey, Nick and Kwah. Thanks guys!!

it is currently difficult to navigate through the course if you have not previously seen it!! the baskets are marked it's just a big course and almost entirely in the woods!! hopefully someone will create a course map in the near future!! It's a bad #$*&$! course regardless!!
Hopefully we will be out of here in the next couple of days. Tomorrow is BANK, BANK, BANK and hopefully everything will come together so I can post tomorrow evening or Tuesday. I am just waiting for the banks to open on Mon.
Take a big saw for me Hate, feel free to whack-out any and all problem trees you see. Wish I was closer...I would love to go play.

Made it to the park this morning, but the city was pulling the baskets. There were no locks on the baskets yet, so he was pulling them until they could be locked. So we walked a few of the holes,:D:)SWEET COURSE.
We ended up playing Rivery. Noticed some idiots tagged a couple of the baskets, letting everyone know that they aced that hole :( Another sweet course :D:cool:

Ed and I just completed a meeting of the minds and the decision to keep All the ladies on the same course at the same time. The Tee time will remain the same!!!((10:
[email protected] Hollow)This will continue to focus on the ladies enjoying each other and experiencing a great event, and the ladies climbing the rating ladder will be able to compare their game with the big girls.
This will cause for some delays during play, but the up side is the T.D.'s have it easier and get to enjoy the experience.
Escourts check in 8:30am
That sounds great Vinnie. Kenney and I will be playing Cat Hollow today. The Wilco course still does not have the baskets back in the ground.

Hello everyone!
Way to go Temple Ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Just a few things....
Rocco's mini should be Sunday, May 14th at 5th St. if he is awake by then. (I have not seen him for almost a month!). Someone please remind him.
The "BoomBoom Doubles" will be held Saturday, May 20th at Lions Park.
Also the TDGA meeting will be held Saturday May 20th after the mini. Time and location will be announced soon. The agenda will be finalized by May 18th so if you have anything to bring up e-mail me with the info and I will put it on the agenda.
The BAG TAGS are ready and myself and Keela have them. If you are a current member please get yours. If you are not a current member please join so that you will get one. A Club T-Shirt also comes with membership. The shirts should be ready soon....I hope?
We need to plan a clean up day at the 5th st.course. Please let me know what day a few people can be organized. We need a trailer to pick up debris and trash to move to a point that the city can pick it up.
Texas 7 Farwell Tour event #2 is coming up May 27th in Tyler.
I will probably be leaving Friday Morning the 26th and camping in Chandler by the lake. Might stay Saturday night and come back on Sunday. Remember....That weekend is Memorial Day weekend so Monday should be a holiday for most of you. :D
Hope to see you all soon on the course.
Later....
