First off i would like to thank the people who came out to help at the course this morning. However, wires got crossed and it will be NEXT Thursday for this clinic. Talked to Shannon at Circular about our outing to San Saba. He said the price for us to rent the lodge was $325 per night and greens fees would be $20 per head. Sounds like a good deal to me. This means if we have 20 people, the cost woud be about $50 per person and if we have 40 people about $32 per person. Let's see if we can get some commitments and round up the monies needed to do this. This will be the last time we will be able to play these awsome courses. Count Me, Carson, and Rick in for sure and we will probably have a couple others.

That's $650 for two nights. Lets just calculate it up like we will have 15 people going (we should have around this number). That would mean each person would pay $45 (roughly) to be in the lodge for the weekend plus $20 for greens fees. That means each person that wants to go owes $65. Any extra money we have after we pay will be split among ourselves in a fair way (the first one to call it). I'll take it.

I hear Rocco is the man in charge in this neck of the woods and I would love to hear all there is to know about central Texas golf. It;s almost here. People from Waco going are Myself, Carson, Rick, Lance, Don, Rockin Jon, Charlie, Mark and Ginger and maybe one or two more. Charlie bought a bunch of steaks at a meat market yesterday. He said if anyone wants a steak cooked on Sat he will bring filets and sirloins. (Cost will be about $7 each) I will be grilling corn and fixing mashed potatoes. So anyone who wants in on this let me know.
Our group will be arriving there about 8pm Fri. Charlie and the Bowmans won't be there until Sat.
Someone will be there Fri between 6 and 7pm to open up the place. If you arrive early you can hop the fence and hang out or play.
Who all is going from Temple and who wants steak? (we will be serving Duck Sausage to Rocco)

The way this has panned out would make it $30 a person for the lodge on Friday and $25 a person for the lodge on Saturday. Add $20 for green fees. That means it will be at least $75 (it maybe up to $100 though so bring extra cash just in case) for the weekend minus supplies.

Now that the San Saba trip is done and behind us (which was a blast) it is time to focus back on the Lions Park project.

Where are we you ask??? We are needing volunteers to get with Rocco and plan a day to put in the rebar for the tee boxes and also build them back up some so that concrete can be placed. I am trying to work with the city on getting assistance with the cost of placing the concrete. It seems since it is during the week we have a limited number of people who can come out and help and if we can get the city to assist in the cost then that is what we will do.

If you can help out please contact Rocco and let him know. You will have to call him since his computer is totally down and he does not have access to email or the PDGA board.

I think we need to get ready to really get this organization a little more organized. I just spoke with an old friend that works with the Corps Of Engineers.
The City of Belton will be aquiring the 2 parks by Frank's Lakeview Inn out by the lake and they are planning on putting in a DG Course. :)
I think at our next election we should change our name to the "Central Texas Disc Golf Association". This will not limit us to one city.

Also needed are more people to stand up and become more active in the club. When Belton gets this course, (which is very close to my house), I will become more involved.
Let me know your feelings and thoughts on this.

It would be awesome to have 3 course within a few minutes drive! :D

Boom Boom - I agree with you on your whole post. It has been great the people who have stepped up and helped when needed but this can take a lot of mine and Rocco's time. It would be awesome for more people to get involved and help out. We need to get all the members together in one place to talk about changes (for the better) and projects that need to happen and where we need to be more involved in the community.

I am all for it!

Temple was well represented at this event. Had a great time in Live Oak as always. Was great to hang out with everyone who came. Was glad to see so many from Temple could make it. Someone asked me where i was from and when i told them Temple they said "Man, yall are everywhere". Nice to make a statement and have the Temple name/players known!!!

I know it is hard to believe....but it is true...i camped :Dand was a good sport about it too!

Next mini is next Sunday. Players meeting will be at 9am and we will tee off at 930am for singles at Rotary. I realize this is a lil earlier than usual but it will allow us to get done earlier. Doubles will meet at the pavillion at Lions for 1 round of 9 holes at 1:30pm and tee off will be at 1:45pm. Let's have a good turn out so let everyone know!! OR we could go crash Waco's mini that day if it is the 3rd Sunday. Lemme know what you guys want to do.

Rocco....i will need that black box if you are going to be sleeping in that day.

Ok the BEAST was great today. Ha Ha!
We played both courses with Doug being the winner for the tag challenge on the second round at WEST.
The Brazos river and other various bodies of water laid claim to over 10 discs from our 8 person group! :eek:
All in all it was a beautiful day of disc golf with our friends from Waco :D
