Hey dudes and Dudettes, the TDGA will be having A birthday party celebrating our 1st year. On the second Sunday of July there will be a special MINI. Added CTP's plus special bonus awards. I will be bringing the BIG BBQ pitt. Stay tuned for more info????? Later Psycho Mike!
Happy B-day to Temple and to the TDGA. This is a city that as I've been saying for a while is definitely "With The Program!"
Mike, along with Billy and others, are doing good work there in Temple and disc golf has a new locale to brag about. In only a year, bridges, concrete pads (wish some local Austin courses would follow that lead) and other course improvements have taken place. In addition to these upgrades, the city's already on board with a plan to build a second 18-hole course. The club is already in the process of raising funds for this second course.
Hill Country Flyers fully supports the TDGA and all that they are trying to accomplish. This b-day party (July 13) is the day following the next ZT10 in Dallas. You can bet that I'll be on hand to help ring in the anniversary (a few cold Ziggy's and some of Mike's BBQ oughta be just about right. /msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif )
HCF will also be sponsoring some CTP's and quite possibly some other goodies for the day as well.
Let's turnout strong like we know we can and help our brothers in Temple celebrate one year of doing it the right way!
Thanks Mark, you are the kind of people that helps things come todether. At the mini on the second Sunday of July there will be CTP's in all divisions plus added prizes, BBQ with proceeds going to the TDGA to help fund the new course. Entry fees will be $5.00 $2.00 and $8.00 $2.00. If there is not an ace we will do CTP for 1/2 the ace pot. The Mayor is going to pencil us in (yes he is a dg'er). There will be cash and plastic payouts. If any of my buds would like to pitch in for CTP's or BBQ feel free to contact me. As of right now all the meat is being supplied by the Wilson family. There will be limited camping at different locations, so that the Austin players and others can crash on their way back from the ZT10. I look forward to seeing everybody at the Psycho Mike TDGA Birthday Bash. Contact me at 254-624-6043 or

Hey Mike - just in case I get a wild hair...how far is Temple from Houston? With a party like it sounds you're throwing...it might be fun to make an effort to drag myself up there! /msgboard/images/clipart/proud.gif
Hey Ching, it is approx. 180 to 190 miles. Don't quote me as I don't know where you stays. If you would like to come up Sat. we can find you some carpet or maybe even a bed or couch. Psycho Mike
Just got off the phone with the parks director. He has no problem with people camping at the course. A few dont's, no open fires as the grass is dry. The city will be bringing port-o-stinkers for the mini. There is no water or tricity. No glass containers on the course.
Calling out R.R. and Austin DGERS. Who will represent? All in good fun to raise money for the second course in Lions Park. Psycho no worries friend you will have help with the meat. There is a slow horse that lives in the pasture behind my house. We will not go hungry.
Hey Birdman, I need the meat early, as horse meat is close to kangaroo as I have been told, (could be wrong, not the first time). Chris it would be an honor if you could bring the war wagon. you will love our little putt&pitch course,it might remind you of the outback. See you in Temple.
Mike I plan on being out at the course early on Saturday. I hope to get in a round with junior and work on the creek clean-up. Please bring my net. Later.

my schedule as of today says i'm off that weekend.
hopefully i'll be making the trip to dallas, don't see why it should not be a full weekend.
pencil me in, i'll keep ya posted.
ROUND ROCCCCCKKKKKKK!!!!!
Sign up time? Tee time? Schedule?
Here's the scoop. I will be at the course at around 7:ish to get the pit fired back up and begin taking sign-ups. Players meeting about 10:00,tee off 10:30. With this being a B-day party I have asked the Mayor to say a couple of things. I have been to a bunch of city meetings and he don't talk long, and knows that we are on a time schedule. For anyone that is interested we will have Fling Dude Doubles after lunch, random draw. I have also talked to my t-shirt man and he hopes to have our TDGA shirts ready in time. I will not be pressing him as he gave me a helluva deal.
Metal Mike don't make us carjack you on I-35 in Temple when you return from Dallas. Looking forward to having you at the B-party.

you can count on a DRAGON MIGRATION north that weekend.
Hey people, been at the course most of the day. Just a little clean-up around the creek. Finnaly got the saw going. All help was appreciated,we hauled a butz load of crapola out of the water. Some was left for effect or lack of energy. The creekside banks were trimmed, and the city will mow prior to the MINI. Special thanx to David, Billy, Little Michael, Simon,& Andrew.
Oh yeah Michael was moving some wood today with his two year old bad self. Mike hope to contribute more next weekend. See you after the fireworks.
Just a short note. I am working with the Tourism Director with the city for a hotel deal, meeting is Mon. 9am so I will post then. Disc golf Temple. Later Psycho Mike
You go Psycho! You're doing fine work there, for an Aggie. This B-day party looks like its gonna turn into quite a shindig.
Hello fellow DGrs. I have just returned from the meeting with Lois Petrie and we have a Hotel deal. For anyone who would like to stay in Temple Sat. and or Sun. night contact the Temple LaQuinta at 254-771-2980. Do not call the 800 number. The rate per night will be $49.99. To get this rate you will need to ask for group rate Psycho. You may also be able to specify Temple Disc Golf Assoc. In my conversation with the manager "Harry" he told me that this Hotel has won awards for their outstanding breakfast. I will be leaving maps to the course at the front desk. Travel time to the course 15 to 20 minutes. These reservations need to be made early so that we can show them that we mean business. Also since this is their first time with the TDGA, lets support those that support us. Psycho Mike
OOOPS, forgot to mention that the rate is good for 1 to 4 people, and that there is a shaded pool area. Psycho Mike
Hey everybody, just got in the house, and on the puter. If you are coming to the PARTY give me some feedback. Am expecting delivery of more trash cans from the city. These things seem to grow legs or wash down the crik. I will be at the park early to take care of the two trees down on the ground. Any spare chain saws out there? That is I will be at the park Fri. the 4th, clean then play.

Hoping to be able to throw a pallet somewhere dry to get a nights sleep.

Hey our Wee Little course can be decieving, since it is known that the wind always blows. And don't be surprised to see hole locations changed. Any and all portables will be utilized. I have found someone to do the cooking so as to leave me to just run the mini. T-shirts will be here. I will be at the course about sun-up thirty to get things set up. If anyone has mobile canopies it will help.

Hey Vinnie,
You got dubs on the pop up camper with A/C if you want it. Look forward to seeing you guys.
Hole #2 and #5 are pretty much in a swamp of shin deep water/muck/whatever after a rain. So far the weather looks great and the course should be dry.
If we do get a heavy rain then Mike will probably have to put temps in but I am sure if he did he would make them the same length but harder!
(Huh Mike).
I feel we will have a very safe and enjoyable weekend.
Later,
Joey
Mike I am signed up for the Z10 in Dallas but I still not sure if I am going to make the trip. What time will you be at the course on Saturday?

Hey all, I will be arriving at the course at sunrise thirty to get the pit going and start setting up. We are getting extra trash cans from the city along with porta stinkers. Course looks GREAT!! Awesome job TEMPLE
I just talked to Mike out at the course. As usually he is busting his tail to get things ready for tomorrow's birthday party/big mini. He just watched Carson Harrell ace #1 with a roc. Quit your day job already Carson and hit the tour.
I just want to say that Mike Wilson made this course in Temple possible. He worked for over 7 years to get this park in place. He continues to be the main guy in Temple when it comes to promoting disc golf and when we put the new course in Lion's Park it will be because Mike made it happen. Mike has allowed me help out a little over there in Temple and it has made me appreciate how much work is involved in promoting disc golf. So if you get a chance tomorrow tell him how much his efforts are appreciated. But becareful not to get to close because they don't call him Psycho for nothing.
Just a reminder the park is beer friendly but no glass bottles.
See y'all on the course.
Just made it home from a brutal day in the heat at White Rock Lake (wish it was permanent) for another successful ZT10. Chris mentioned the Temple B-day to the assembled 150ish at the player's meeting, and we should see some faces from today out there too.
I'll be there...when I get there. /msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif
Happy B-day Temple and Major Props to Psycho Mike Wilson for being "The Freakin' Man!"
Tomorrow is the day, or is it today? Days just seem to run togather when your having fun. When it get's to be work, watch out. Justa pun, Evereybody including distant friends have made this happen. I need some sleep, bye
Leaving for the course now. Let's have some fun and party.
Well, just got the trailers unloaded. Slammed a few and I'm here. Whoppin big *** show in Temple today. Ifn ya wadnt there ya shouda ben. 67 players players, no ace to grab $100.00 added only if an ace was made. Bucks go to baskets. Guess I can't deal with the heat as well as I did when I was younger. That bites.
Temple's course is awesome. What's the number of that hole with the creek on the left that's really long with a left dog leg off the tee and the basket on the other side of a ravine? That's an absolutely great freakin' disc golf hole.
Thanks to Mike for a great course and a great time. Also thanks to all who came out yesterday.
At least I won the OMB CTP. What a great shot that was. Man, I'm good. /msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif

I'm glad you posted those Mike, since its the only way I'll remember it. About the last half of that round is completely wiped off the internal hard drive by the overheating.
Mark, part of the internal drive failed to make the trip. I would like to thank all who made the trip. The heat was brutal, I have been in contact with a couple of players that just left. My appologies for not having more water on the course. I will post a congratulative letter so that all that contributed will be recognized. I'm tired, G,Night Psycho
Mark, I didn't mean any harm. It is tough to drive 200 or 300 miles, or more, play at some of the best courses without sleep or rehydration. It is hard on the body to try to keep up. Take a break, you're game will improve if you are not so stressed. Later

No harm done here, bud. I didn't really know at the time, but I was setting myself up for a collapse that day. Hopefully the lessons learned will help me always be more prepared and thus safer for summer golf.
At FF this past weekend (100 temps and even higher THI), I stayed hydrated, kept my neck wet and cool and poured cold water on me all day. I may have looked like I peed my shorts by the end of the day, but that's a small price to pay for being able to get through two days and four rounds and still feel okay at the end of it. /msgboard/images/clipart/happy.gif

Mike, call me again, I could not quite understand you phone number on my voice mail. As far as getting a weekend for next year, Well it will not be easy to find one. Some tournaments held this year may drop off. I really can't start working on next year until the PDGA sets the A-tier events. (I have no say in those) This is done in Sept and Oct usually. I usually start working on next years schedule after the Carrollton Open.
Just a short note. The Temple MINI as always on the second Sunday of each month. Cut-off for entry at 10:00 with players meeting to follow. Tee-off 10:30, Fling Dude Doubles after lunch. Hope to see everyone, Later Psycho Mike
Just a special thanx to all the Temple players that made the trip to Waco for the Z-10, there were even a couple who made the trip that couldn't get in because it was full. After the crazy off-balance around the tree flip putt on #10, and a trip to the bone Quack I have been placed on the injured reserve list w/ the knee. Surgical consult on Aug. 14th. BTW Temple mini this Sun. Aug. 10th, Players meeting 10 AM tee off 10:30. No entries after 10, Fling Dude Doubles after lunch. Thanks Gary Duke for the scoring software, I hope to have the lap-top up and running by Sunday. Thanks Psycho Mike
Hello fellow DGR's. I am proud to announce that Nolan&Linda will be at the course for the Mini Sun. They will have the cool-ties and sausage wraps for sale. These friends of Disc Golf are donating all profit of sales to TDGA. They were lifesavers at the Birthday Bash. Let them know that their #1 Thanx Psycho Mike
What? is no one coming to Temple? Cool-ties N food. Plenty of water. So far 5, 5 Gal jugs. Nolan & Linda will be on hand with cool-ties and sausage wraps. They are talking about bringing "Lucille" the Airstream to cover heat problems. I look forward to seeing all at Temple this Sun.
Mike they will be a least two of out there in the hot a** sun. Look forward to getting in some much needed practice. Did ya get me email?
Mike, I was wondering if there is much of an Adv Masters div at these minis. Was thinking of coming. I could play Adv if necessary.
Notice to all. I usually run Rec,Int,Adv,&Pro. Masters,Grand Masters, so on as determined by entry. All women cash. All juniors cash. Nolan&Linda will be on hand with cool-ties&sausage wraps. 100% payout in all divisions, cash to pro's, pick your on for Am's. I need more water jugs! If ya got one stop by the c-store up from the course, let them know you are heading to play Disc Golf and they will give you FREE ice and water. Later Psycho Mike
Whers else but Temple. Look forward to seeing all at the Mini this Sun. 14th for great competition with a bounty on the longs starting at $25.00, this will increase as time goes on. The record stands at -5. Vinnie was the last to tie. I have also been told that the short record of -10 could also be involved. Sign-up stops at 9:45, players meeting at 10. Tere will be special news at the Mini. Later Psycho Mike
Look forward to seeing a bunch of people at the mini tomorrow. Sounds as the Z10 went well, great job Chris and Staff. Temple is just a short drive up from The Rock. Players meeting at 10, start 10:30ish. CTP's in all divisions "Thanx Dragons, Vinnie, Metal, Mark, and others". Pick your own for AM's, PRO's get cccccaaasssshhhh. 100% payout for singles. Just a reminder that the Monthly Mini for Temple is this Sun. da 12th. Pro's get cash, Am's pick your own. Players mtg 10:00 AM, tee-off 10:30. All Juniors &Women cash. If you break the course record from shorts (-8) or longs (-5) from a base score of 54 $25.00. This too may increase? This will be a warm-up for all playing Waterloo & and elsewhere. Hope to see ya all Sun. Later Psycho Mike
I'll be there. Gotta break that record. Hopefully the conditions will be better this weekend. The course is awesome, can't wait to play.
If you haven't played this course you're missing out. It has a little bit of everything.
I have room for a couple of people in the Trail Blazer if anyone needs a ride out there.

I will talk with you weds. thinking about heading that way as well. LOVE THAT COURSE!
Looking forward to hooking up with all y'all. Mike expect a call on Saturday. Later bro.
Hey people, just got home from the course. Lots of activity with Carson Acing #5 in da mud. I look forward to playing with all ya'll this weekend. Special thanx to Iceman for the chalenge for the fund to raise cash for baskets for Lions Course. Martin has issued a match for cash of $25.00 to all. He also supplied the $25.00 Bounty for the shorts. We have a great amount of players that are willing to help, thanx.
Cware- Looks like we'll have to take your truck this weekend to Temple.
The Temple Mini will go on as planned this Sun. We will be having a clean-up on Sat. With 6 1/2 inches of rain in one day the creek deposited a butz load of debris around the lower baskets and tee pads. The benches in the rest areas have not been located as yet. The city will be sending out a few of the community service workers to help with the work. I will be meeting them there at 8 AM. Judy and I will supply donuts for the early risers. Come on out and help, it won't take long. I will be bringing the 4 wheeler and trailer. Later Psycho Mike
Well I guess that I have finally figured out the new board.

when is the next mini ?
The second Sunday of the month (Dec. 14). I believe that sign up time will be at latest 10:00 a.m. with tee off at 10:30. For those that don't know Olse smashed the old course record by shooting a -7 (maybe a -8) under tournament par (54) from the longs. That means you Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, and Waco pros need to get your azzes up here. Since Temple has no pros, the cash will probably be yours.
Chris, you are right. The next mini will be Sun. Dec. 14th. With the new record from longs at -7. Players meeting at 10:00, be signed up before that. The carryover ace pot now stands at $144.00 plus what gets put in could be a helluva shopping trip for Christmas. Look forward to seeing A big turn-out to try to grab the big bucks. Later Psycho Mike
Today is a sad day for the Temple Disc Golf Association and the Temple Rotary Disc Golf Course. During the night of Dec. 2 we fell victim to basket theft. It seems that someone used a vehicle to pull up the basket at hole seven. The pin and lock are still in tact but it seems that the basket pole was broke so im sure that even if we were able to get the basket back that it would not be usable. Im sure a reward will be posted later for the death, i mean info leading to the identification of the piece of [*****] or [*****].

Dec 04 2003, 01:26 PM
That sucks, let us know if you're starting a collection to replace it, I'm sure several people would pitch in.
GET A ROPE!!!!
SORRY BASTAGES!!!!!
The reward for the capture and execution of the sorry *** that ripped off #7 basket has begun. My wife "Judy" and I are opening with $50.00. Since basket thieves are rarely caught, this money will go towards replacement. I just got off the phone from talking to Shannon at Circular and a new basket is on the way.
Now that I have vented I just want to remind yall that the mini will be on Sun. Dec. 14th, with $144.00 ace pot carryover. If I get an ace this would offset my expenses of the basket.
Later Psycho Mike Wilson
Well we made it through Christmas and the move to the new house. Still no word of #7 basket's whereabouts. There were a few people that donated and I thank you. We recieved about one third of the cost of a replacement. If anyone would like to add to this amount please drop it in the mail.

Mike, try and get some of the local kids to start asking around the schools. When we had a basket stolen from the ROCK it was by some school kids. and we all know how much they like to BRAG. someone might know something.
Good idea, but school is out and every regular that comes out here has graduated (most during the early 1920's, right Mike :D)
Hey fellows just because i'm three days older than dirt ya don't have to rub it in.
I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy new year.

Keep up the good work Psycho!!

Happy New Year to everyone out in disc golf land.
Just to let you all know that the regular monthly mini will be held this coming Sunday the 11th. There is $157.00 in the carry-over ace pot. Players meeting at 10AM, be signed up before that.
Also there has been $144.00 donated to defer the cost of replacing #7 basket. This is not quite half of what is needed.
I look forward to seeing all my buds this weekend.

Hi Mike. what plans do you have for the Temple Open in June. Is it still a B-tier as the LSGDA page says? I am keen to know the details as I am sure others are. I am going to try and play a little more this year.
Thanks
Chris
Isnt this a "First Time" tournament?
I thought they only gave out C tier, for first times, this year?
Either way, MAKE TEXAS PROUD PSYCHO!!!!!

Great mini, guys.
It was fun playing with McCaine again. I know the scores were pretty high, but James still beat me by one throw. It all looks the same in the W/L column. If you would turn down the wind and fill in that creek, everyones scores would improve ! :D
I look forward to playing again. Since all discgolf is 100 miles from where I now live, I have to make a full day of it.
See you!!!
Sorry to say but the wind is the way of life out here and the creek is now full with all the rain this weekend.
I'm going to get the word out early this time about the Temple Mini. It will be held this coming Sunday (Feb. 8). Sign up by 10:00 a.m.. Play starts at 10:30. The more people that show the quicker we will be able to raise the funds for a new 18 hole disc golf course our club is planning to put in the ground. Also, the ace pot has still not been hit which means that it will be over 200 dollars. Don't be scared, come and get it if you can.

Is there a Maters division?
Is this a disc golf tourney or an orgy?
First it's a singles tourny. Then, instead of playing doubles an orgy will be held with a 5 dollar entry fee (just for Vinnie).
But really, now that we've heard from the current two time pro champ who is going to come and knock him off the throne?

Disc Nerd can we get a course update?
Alrighty now here is the course condition update. Bring it on. I just came from walking the problem areas and all is good to go. There will be no temp baskets as #3 and #5 have drained well. There is water in the drainage creek next to #5 and will be OB. The water in the creek is down some from yesterday and poses no problems.
Make sure you bundle up as the high is predicted to be 45-50. And this being Temple the wind will be here.
As far as there being a Masters Division and so on, It depends how many sign-up for them. We usually don't have that many of us (old fartz) to make them up. But things can change.
There is $181.00 in the Ace-pot carry-over, so come get you some and try for a new course record.
Later,
Psycho Mike Wilson
I played yesterday and it was a little muddy but since the sun is coming out today and hopefully tomorrow it probably won't be muddy at all. I think mikewilson covered the rest.

It is always good to see guys from out of town to attend our minis. Especially if I could learn a couple new things (let the jokes fly on this one). I plan on visiting the course again tomorrow and i'll give another course update.
As of Saturday our course has dried up nicely and is definitly ready for play for our Sunday mini. Only hole two has wetness around the basket but that's nothing to be scarred of.

Yes, and the sign up by 10. I will add 20 dollars to one of yalls payout if you beat the course record held by Olse (47). If it was as calm as it was today you should both have a pretty good chance.
Forgot to add: tie the record = no money
I want to thank all the out of towners for showing up to our mini today and especially to those who attended and donated your winnings to our Disc Golf Association (it may be over 100 dollars). You guys rule!!! I think Mike will post the actual amount of what was donated.

talk about WINDY! GREAT FUN thanks Temple
I drove by the course today and it looks like the people from Black Land Research have started their project on our disc golf course. I believe this project has something to do with soil erosion. Anyways, the real importance to us disc golfers is that they started digging the tributary that runs beside hole 5. It will now be nearly as deep as the creek itself making chances of getting your disc back even harder. I personally hope they dig the tributary this deep beside holes 3 and 6 all the way down to the creek because this would make our course that much harder/better. :D
james_mccaine
Feb 25 2004, 04:33 PM
Also might actually help dry the course out. Which one is the difficult one going towards the street? Is that 3 or 4? I'm trying to think if #5 is the righty annie hole with the creek to the right or the longer, tough par 3 with the creek behind it.
You know, given the lack of slope out there, I wouldn't have thought erosion was much of a problem.
#4 is the difficult one going to the street and your right about 5 being the annie hole. Your also right about flooding being the problem and not erosion. I just didn't explain what the purpose for their study is well enough. I think their study is going to be about what plants/grass allow the least erosion. I don't really think this will make holes 4 or 5 any harder but if they do dig it down all the way to the creek I think it will be great for hole 3 which is a pretty easy bird. This means no more pushing the shot right and hyzering it in without any risk. The same will go for hole 6's approach shot (to a small degree).

Feb 26 2004, 12:53 PM
thanks discNerd I was cornfused. :D
Well, I played the course today and to my dismay it seems that the digging of the tributary will not have any effect on hole number 3. It will however make it nearly impossible to get your disc back on hole 5 if you go into tributary while it is full. Also hole 5 now has a hyzer approach to it.
This just in from Mike about the 2nd Annual Temple Birthday Bash (or whatever it will be called):
"The TDGA is proud to announce that there will be a PDGA sanctioned C-Tier here in Temple on the weekend of May 8-9, 2004."
I'll post more information about it when I get it from Mike.
Also, the numbers are in for the donations from the last mini that went to our stolen basket replacement fund. Many generous souls donated and we were able to raise $102.50. I would like to send out a big thanks again to these people.
This is just a short note to calm everybody down about the construction that is happening at the course.
This construction is being done by the city, not Blackland. The ditches that are being dug are for water drainage. When we get a turd floater, water runs over the instead of through the pipe. It may look like crap now, but in the end the sides of the ditches will be sloped and seeded. The only trees that were taken out were on the North side of the drainage ditch that did not come into play on #4. I met with the city guys before this project ever bagan. They should be completed within 2-3 weeks weather permitting.
Oops, sorry about the misinformation there Mike. 2-3 weeks weather permiting. I think you mean 2-3 city workers permiting. Also, i'd like to wish you luck at the Waco Charity Open playing in the older than the discovery of fire division. Stay out of the drink. :D

Forgot to mention the ace pot is now over 200 dollars and this course offers some good chances to hit it.
Temple mini coming up again this sunday. Nobody hit the ace pot last time so it will be up there again.
Any TDGA'ers up for a round in the morning around 9ish?
I'll be out there with a full cup of coffee ready to play from the longs. C-ya
Are you talking about a 9:00 a.m. round on the 21st (today) or the 22nd (tomorrow). Contact me if you meant today, if not, i'm in for tomorrow and will meet you out there.
Well Rocco, since my post yesterday was up at 3:45 p.m., I doubt I meant 9:00 a.m. yesterday.
I was out there this morning at 9 but I didn't expect to see anyone since it was raining. Of course, Psycho was there, moving some baskets to alternate positions due to the weather and mud, but no golf was played. Too bad, since I had some free time away from the squids until 12:30. Dam rain!
I'm sorry, but what does playing the longs mean???????
It means, Harlen you wiseazz ( :D), that I know a lot of locals like Rocco like to go out there and play the short tees and make themselves feel better. I just wanted to be clear about which tees I was gonna play. :)
Looks like I'll be out there in the morning too, since it doesn't seem I'll make it home to the Big B tonight. Its shining outside now. Hope it stays that way until in the morning.
See ya there at 9...ish. :)
Oh, so he rides the little yellow bus.
I thought it was something non-hetero.
Harlen, or Rocco, or Joey, or Nick, or Psycho or any one of the fun Temple locals, I'll be trying again in the a.m. weather permitting.
See ya there. We'll be playing from the very hetero long tee pads. ;)
Dude I'll be working at the V.A. and can be there between 4:30 or 5:00. Ready for some hetero disc golf.
Non-hetero....please. The last time you "worked the V.A." you came out to the course bragging about how the vets underpaid and treated you badly while you were giving them BJ's (puke icon here). Even worse than that was your breath that day (I could tell that stuff wasn't ochata crusted on your lips like you said it was).
By the way No-wood, now that my back is 100% it will be all longs from now on just like it has been for the last month. You will go down!!!!!
Lots of talk, but again, no Rocco. Hmmm, was it something I said?
Shot a +7 this morning, which ain't too good I'll grant you, but I 4'd #4 and 3'd #6, which I have done, but never both in the same round so I was happy. Missed too many birdies though. Coulda, shoulda, woulda. Oh well, I had fun.
Nick, Scotty and another guy whose name I don't recall showed up as I was finishing, but I had to split.
Harlen, I don't know about this afternoon, but I'll try. Might be tough today though.
Tomorrow morning at 9:00 A.M. again I'll be there and waiting...waiting....waiting Rocco....always waiting.........
Whoa time out Non-heteroI. I just think people announcing that they're playing from the PRO BOXES have an inferiority complex. No sense getting in your normal position (bent), competitive disc golfers should'nt be playing regular or short tees. Those are reserved for the true recreational players. Enough said, for sure I'll be their Thursday at 5:30.
Atwood stay at your lady friend's place a LITTLE later. :DThe Harrell Boys are to be their also.
Harlen, you goober, I don't have an inferiority complex. I just know that occasionaly the locals here will go out and play their casual rounds from the shorts and I wanted to let whoever showed up know that I wanted to test my game against the course the way its meant to be played. Example: yesterday morning I saw a casual golfer roll up and play 9 holes from the short pads and then leave. Then as I was finishing there was another group of locals that came to play and I believe they were gonna play short as well.
If anything, I have an unwarranted superiority complex. ;)
Atwood I was just trying to rile Rocco " Non-hetero" Varchetto. I think it was successful? HE'S NOT TALKING ANY SMACK BACK.
Yes, it does seem that you shut him up, huh? ;)
Well, I'm still in Temple so I'll try to make it out this afternoon. Still shooting for 5:30?
Speaking of shutting people up. Halen good luck tomorrow polishing all that petrified wood up at the VA. :D
Dangit, Rocco got me by 2 with a +7. Arrrggghhh!
I did get my revenge on the course kinda this morning. I met up with an army guy named Scott Bier that's stationed in Killeen now, so you Temple guys will be seeing a lot of him. Nice guy and loved the course, compared to the courses in Philly and Jersey, where he's from. He said he'd heard of Nick Kight, but I didn't hold that against him. :)
I shot a +5 which is my first round there in the 50's! WooHoo! I missed an easy 12' birdie on #17 to take Rocco's +4 from him, but I was still happy that I got a score that started with a "5" finally on that course. ;)
That's good shooting (its all relative after all). Hell, I think you could have shot even better than that during our round if you hadn't blown up for four holes in a row (+8 through these 4 holes).
No doubt! +1 With 6 holes to play and two of the longer holes behind me. I sure thought I had a smoking round going. But, that's the way that course is. There's no room to let up. Even the birdie holes can bite ya and #14 can be a round killer for anybody.
I'll shoot even out there someday...soon. ;)
(Shoulda had a +2 today with 3 very makeable birdie misses. Soon........)

Really enjoyed being in Temple all week and getting several chances to play that course.

Yawn....(last post puting me to sleep icon here)
No, but seriously, i'd love to play the Rock more but it's just not 5 minutes away like this course is. By the way, what day do the powers that be hold the minis out there at the Rock?
I'm sorry I've been AWOL and I totally can't let the little helmet polisher have one up on me. Dude Rocca " Non- Hetero" Verchetto was very lucky. Atwood had him until they walked to the last four. I seen Atwood have every bit of a chance to catch him. He took an o.b. on 13? I'm sorry Non- Hetero Atwood will clean your plow. I will be in the area Thurday. All bets on the Silver Back. Care to wager?
Ware I give Phycho a call tomarrow and post later. Hope to see you their and the rest of the R.R's
Oh yea we can wager a little friendly game of wolf or skins!!!!!!!!!!!
I would hardly call it luck. Just as I blew up on the first 6, Marka blew up on the last 6. I knew that sometime during the round if I could start hitting the 10-15 footers i'd be right back in it and that is exactly what happened. I had my worst start ever from the longs and still had enough to fight the loss off. What you really need to be worrying about is me beating your arse on your home course again.
O'kay I still do not understand the meaning of playing the long?
I still think your leaning towards the anti-hetero thing?
Thanks for your confidence in me Harlen. The more I play that course, the better I get there, and I think the better I get period.
I've been so close to +1 and +2 out there. Scores like that would set me up in good shape against 90% of my OMB competition.
The sleeper is awakening.......
Atwood it dont look like I'll be playing the Mire Pit this week way too much rain. Hope everything dries before the B-day Bash. I know for sure you can dole out a slice of humble pie to Rocco.Let me know yall's next bragging rights challenge happens. I will definitely be their.

Atwood I'm thinking about going to Temple today with Carson. Any chance of you meeting us their?
As much as I'd love to, I'm in the Burnet office today. :)
Maybe Saturday, since I'm looking to play somewhere that day anyway.
Is the course gonna be playable today? It sure got a lot of wet stuff this week.
Of course anytime you want to make your way to the Big B for a round, I'll be your gracious host. Rocco can tell you how to get here, he knows the way. Knows the way to the creek too. :)
Apewood, name the time Saturday. The course should be playable today with the two straight days of sunlight it has gotten but that won't mean that it won't be damp out there.
Atwood maybe sometime next week we can get a round or two in.
Also my mule is at half bray.

Is anyone planning to play Temples Second Annual Birthday Bash?
Okay, when I get back from Vic on Sat. and Lago on Sunday, I'll be playing a lot in Temple for a few days to tune up for Worlds. Its got distance and decision making opportunities that I need to work on before going to IA later in the week.
I'm thinking 2 rounds a day Mon.-Wed.
Who's down?
Every Tuesday and Thurday I meet up with those that come down from Waco around 5 p.m.. You're more than welcome to join anytime you want.

SO WHATS UP?
Okay....it is time to dig this thread back up :)
I have recruited 15 women to learn how to play DG!! By the end of the week I am hoping for at least 20. Mike Wilson brought some plastic to me this morning for us to use and hopefully will be bringing more by. Simon is going to be helping out with teaching these girls the basics along with myself (THANKS SIMON!!). Anyone else who would like to help out please let me know. We are going to meet at the course Saturday at 1pm.
Should be a great and fun day for everyone :)

missy you know that there is a rec division at the TWC and the more the better :D
hooked aint?
well done!
Thanks Vinnie!! We shall see how the day turns out. These women are going to be throwing a disc for the first time. Maybe there will be a natural in the bunch and I shall recruit for the TWC ;)
However even though as of yesterday I had 16 people signed up i will be happy if 8 of them show up :)
Will let you know how it goes though. Hope it turns into sumthin good!
Temple mini this Sunday. Show up by 9:30, start up by 10:00-10:30. Not sure about how much competition there will be for pros but I know that the acepot is will be somewhere around $450.00.
That ace pot is lookin good. Heck i might even pay into it this go around :DMaybe by some wierd streak of luck i will ace sumthin besides a tree. Do we have an ace pot for hitting a tree??
No, but if you hit Big Hate in the back of the head with a disc of the teebox it's just as rewarding (feeling wise, and maybe monetarily if I witness it) as getting an ace.

If you change that attitude you would hit an ace. :o:D
Okay i am changing my attitude to hit Big Hate ;) Just kidding Hate :D
I will aim at Rocco
It would be a lot easier to hit me than Big Hate. To hit Big Hate you would have to aim at a tree because his lie is always under one whereas I am always standing in the fairway. :D There's no money in hitting me though.
I bet if Hate has sumthin to say about it there would be money involved. Just make sure you stand next to the basket for my tee off on Sunday. You know i can make it in your bag ;) I have done it before. Few inches higher and i can ace you for sure

Why yall trying to ace my head . Keela I will try to make it out their Saturday, but I might be in Austin. I will let ya know something later in the week.
The future aint what it use to be
Rocco is trying to ace your head....i was trying to take up for ya :D
Would be great if you could make it....but totally understand if you can't. My number is posted juz give me a buzz or let me know if you see me out on the course. I was thinking we could use Rocco as target practice that day. It would be good for them to have a moving target.
Are you going to make it to the mini on Sunday? Might have a chance to ace again and get the big bucks :cool:Then you could buy a round of drinks for everyone at Jesters afterwards :DWhatta Guy!!!

Im calling it now. I will ace 8 from the longs, bottomline...$450 plus all mine.
Truck payment $320
Insurance $75
Round of drinks $65
Watching Rocco sign my ace disc Pricele$$
If your not a good putter, ask to play doubles
Hate, how you going to ace 8 when you cant even throw your driver that far? Your all gassed up like McNaughty (not to mention that your putts are just as successful as his aggresive style putts).
I have to admit that I like the way my name looks on that Z-Flick that you aced with. It makes it look like I was a the previous owner of that disc. Maybe you will lose it and somebody will return it to me.
When I ace and get the $450 it will be like this:
450 for me.
Middle finger for everybody else.
By the way Keela, I heard that Simon was going to pay your way for the TWC. Luuucky.

I am supposed to meet Simon in the morning @ 10:30 to play a round. You guys wanna come out and play?
