The baskets on the side of the hills, where you can see nothing but a drop off with the horizon behind it, are definitely beautiful. We'll have to get someone with a digital camera (norcal or dunkle) to do that for you.

I just carved a path through the high weeds on hole 2 that you all can walk through to get to the basket so your feet can remain dry. As soon as we get another sleeve we will move that basket to the left making it a straight downhill shot. I also cleaned up some more of the branches on hole 8.

Got to play Lions today for the first time since the baskets got in the ground. Great job to the guys who worked hard on getting that done!! It is a long and challenging 9 hole course and lots o fun.

I'm going to be out there tomorrow digging the alternate pin placement on hole #2. If we get that sleeve back from the city I can concrete it in also. That means no more swamp problems.

Also, I thought I had posted this earlier but upon review I guess not (I guess that you were right norcal), hell has frozen over. Scottie McNaughty paid his dues.

Hey now, I never said it was to long for me. I also stated that I was not speaking for anyone meaning Natty. I can throw just fine on that course. I got me a 4 on the longest hole in the park which is over 1000'. Thats good enough for me. I do want my chance to play with the dragons though. I might have to make it down to the sunday mini cause during the week it aint happening.

I think the mini is Sundays early. Those dragons get up at the crack of dawn if there was any sleep in the first place. :)

What does the X mean in an XC Tier tournament :confused: and is this a rated tournament :confused: Just wondering, cus Dripping Springs is having an XC Tier in a week or 2, night golfing :D 1st round starts and 9:00 and 2nd round at 1:00 AM :eek: :o

"X" means eXperimental. That is in regards to the rules. There is going to be some different rules played. That is all.

X for the tourney in Dripping springs is because you will have to have lights taped on the discs.

It is an unrated tournament. Not sure if you will get points or not though.

Hey, I talked to the dude who is the sign guy, paul, that helped with the 5th St. course sign. He said a 8'X4' sign would run about $90..well he said $195 first but ol' marko did some bartering or something. Whole point is if Justin can't/isn't/doesn't, have time to do the sign we can get it done quick! :DTee signs too but I forgot the price he said...and are we doing wood or metal tee signs :confused:

We'll probably go with tee signs just like the ones out at Rotary. Ninety sounds good for a course sign but let me get with Justin again to see what he is up to. As far as the teeboxes go, I think we are waiting for a word from the city to see if they have a Catepillar that we could use.

Okay....talked to the Parks dept this morning and there will be a Bobcat out at Lions for our use next Saturday at 8am. We have it for the day. Lemme know who all is going to be out there and who will be operating it. Just PM me. My job that day will be to sleep in and provide lunch/adult beverages around noon :DSo any special orders on lunch let me know!

TDGA is thinking about doing are annual get away :D Like last year, when we all went to San Saba /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif We were thinking this year, we hit up Dripping Springs Country Club :) The date, but not set in stone, will be October 14- 16 (Nice and Cool :cool:) . I need feed back from everybody, who are interested or need questions answered.
There are limited rooms available in the clubhouse (Like 2 rooms) the rest of us will be camping.......Showers are available (3 showers)
We will also need to check w/ Chris Himing to make sure the weekend we choose is available :cool:

Lets get this done ASAP, and make it bigger and better then last year (If thats possible)

Exactly. Actually it won't matter if we start an hour or two earlier because it will already be hot/humid as hell at 8:00. Talked to the city this morning to confirm everything for Saturday. Bobcat will be there at 8am. Someone (Rocco) will need to meet them in the parking lot across the street from hole #1 (that is at 8am also known as Eight AM or 8:00am). Also they said that when it was time to pour concrete that they would bring a truck out to do that next week.....so no mixing bags :D

I am with Hate on this one. If the city is going to take the time to supply us with the equipment why not do it all at the same time rather than have to ask for it again.....like the concrete truck.

boom boom explained the reason of not framing the shorts.....trust me it will take all dang day to cut out 18 boxes and frame 9 in. The shorts can be framed asap before the concrete gets scheduled but we need to at least get the 9 longs done with all the help we will have. If there is time or this doesn't take all day then we'll frame in the shorts too!! AND THATS THE REASON HATE ;)

Joey Harrell came down today and we walked the course to make sure all the boxes will be where we want them to be. The new changes are as follows:

Hole 1 - The box will now be in the trees (as we have talked about)

Hole 5 - The box will be moved over to the right (by the short trees)

Hole 6 - The hole will be at least 800 ft. from the long box now. The short box will be where the long box is now (well maybe a little bit closer)

Hole 8 - The box will be about 100 ft. to the right of where Missy, NoCal, Big Hate, and the Track Team All-stars are often found naked in the woods.

Hole 9 - The box will be moved up and to the right just a bit making it a straighter shot.

Joey Harrell will also be down Saturday so we can figure out if we are going to have a short box on five and where it is going to be. We will also deciding on an alternate pin placement on hole 5 (even farther back).

Kwah, i'll give you a call soon as No Cal gives me one. Then we can go up to Lowes and get the materials.
