Can we make the boxes like 3 feet off the ground, so when nocal foot fouls, he will fall down..(Pictures speak a thousand words, including foot fouls) :o/msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Aug 19 2005, 06:25 PM
Hate, just because your drive consists of a step and half body twist, which we all know you learned that night at Train Wreck dancing to Copperhead Rd, doesn't mean we're making the tee box 1 foot long /msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
And if anyone were to check out those driving pics, my disc is WELL out of my hand and in flight = NO FOOT FOUL. You just need to actually learn how to use a camera so that the picture is of the driving part, not the aftermath /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif :p

JasonChaffin
Aug 19 2005, 07:03 PM
Its all bout being on the fareway :D No matter how many steps you take, am I right  Then shut it, and learn how to not foot foul already.
Wuts the point of a box, when ur 4th and 5th step are off of it   :o/msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Norcal let me know which places in Lions needed mowing too and i will ask about that also.

There is no point in mowing across the street from hole 6 at Lions. Norcal quit throwing over there, its O.B. and it dont need mowed :(

Aug 22 2005, 03:03 AM
NOcal, when do you have time in your schedule to go up to Waco so we can pick up that rebar. You said you were down to drive, right?

Hate, be careful of throwing stones in that glass house of yours.
<---

Aug 22 2005, 05:59 PM
umm.....hey biatch's it's spelled NORCAL.....**** get it right already, just because Hate was too drunk to type the r doesn't mean it should be a permanent thing :mad:/msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Waco mission anytime this week before friday just call my phone I don't have :D

Keela....they need to mow around 2's basket, 3's tee box area and out to the long box on 6 back up to the creek that divides the fairway....and mow Hates back while your at it, he needs to clean up those scars from the fall on 7 :o:o:D

JasonChaffin
Aug 22 2005, 06:22 PM
the long box on 6 back up to the creek that divides the fairway

Dont forget the O.B. on 6, across the road....AKA as Norcal's lie :o

If your going to have the mowers out...Go ahead and give Soothe a full body mow over :D

Aug 22 2005, 06:54 PM
That's some amusing stuff. Smack talk about deleting smack talk.

<<< shakes head

Glad to hear Lions is coming along so well. I'll have to get up there someday to have a look. Of course, I have no idea what discs look like anymore. :)

Aug 22 2005, 07:09 PM
Ask the city if they can cut the weeds around the creek down to a three foot height at least. I know they don't want it cut all the way but when it gets five feet it starts changing the shot.

Aug 22 2005, 07:30 PM
If your going to have the mowers out...Go ahead and give Soothe a full body mow over :D

booyyy, Lions was nothing on Rocco's mower, now you'll need a blade change for sure after this mow job

Aug 22 2005, 09:22 PM
I'll have to get up there someday to have a look.

Just give me a heads up when u will be there so i can make sure i am playing Rotary that day  :D

Left a message for the City so will talk to the guy tomorrow. I don't know if they have enuff blades to be giving Soothe that cut he needs. I am also gonna see if they can fumagate the City of Temple for those dang knats out at Rotary. Norcal used up a whole can of Off yesterday on just 7 holes. Surprised birds weren't dropping outta the sky from it :D

JasonChaffin
Aug 22 2005, 09:58 PM
Its the tall grass around the creek causing the knat problem :(

Aug 22 2005, 10:04 PM
So if we cut it down to 3 feet....that isn't going to take care of the problem is it? Do we need to get rid of all of it and just let it grow back up to 3 feet?

So if we cut it down to 3 feet....that isn't going to take care of the problem is it? Do we need to get rid of all of it and just let it grow back up to 3 feet?

It will get rid of the problem of having to throw over weeds to get to the basket as well as the problem of having bad shots being held up in the weeds and closer to the basket (like on hole 10).

Aug 23 2005, 06:13 AM
Oooooooooh why does it? had a little brawl at the wreck me and john and juan had to pop it off top it off. almost got arrested so we may have to chill on this wed. J call on the details if you dont see your bro.

Aug 23 2005, 10:57 AM
Talked to the city this morning and they stated that 10 feet out along the creek is a no mow zone. Even asked if maybe they can cut it down a bit and looks like because of Blackland that was a no :( . They are going to try and mow both parks before Saturday.

Aug 24 2005, 01:02 AM
Ok...few things here;
We need a vote on our TDGA getaway....Dripping Springs or San Saba? Joey H said that John would have the place mowed if we get enough peeps so speak up and state ur thoughts on that one....

Hopefully I can make Outlaws....depends on how much $$ I can get considering I'm going to Corpus and just got a new phone plan today.....we'll see

Last but not least...it's looking like we might be having another work day sooner than we think to get the last 9 in at Liger, so Pocco put those gloves back on and Missy get more pizza ready /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif :D

Aug 24 2005, 01:59 AM
If we can get the lodge at SS i will vote for that....if not....i say DS. Actually i would prefer DS but would do either.

Next work day i will get sumthin other than pizza. I am thinkin lunchables would be better.....not so heavy on the tummy :D

How do we almost have 9

I thought Saba was closed

Aug 24 2005, 03:34 AM
I hate to count the chickens before they're hatched but Joey's pledge (1), Hate's pledge (2), Christen and Zane's pledge (3,4,5), John Ratcliff's pledge (6,7). I'm hoping that we will have enough money left over in the account after the teesigns and corsesign is made to cover the eighth basket. This leaves one basket and Joey said he would try to get Charlie Farrar to plege the last one. If he can't we can figure out something to come up with the money quick.

As you see it seems that we have at least seven of the baskets pledged for. Don't forget that the money is not in hand yet though.

One last thing. Hate, I don't even know why you try to schmack talk on here. My avatar explains your and Missy's situation perfectly. You should change you signature to Victim #1.

Aug 24 2005, 03:45 AM
If anybody didn't know already we are pouring the cement this Saturday out at Lions. Please show up and help if you can. If you have a wheelbarrow or any cementing tools please bring those also. I will try to get call as many people as I can to come out and help.

Aug 24 2005, 03:59 AM
Don't be jealous.....I know you have a thing for Hate.

Aug 24 2005, 12:48 PM
Just asking on how you plan to pour all 10 of the boxes when there are people going to Corpus and people having their fantasy football draft too  Most of the boxes will require alot of people with alot of wheelbarrows considering the city won't drive a few ton truck on the grass areas. :p I'm not trying to delay this but at least have it well planned and enough man power to complete the boxes right so we don't f-up this project. If you'd wait just one more weekend we'll have more time for people to plan to attend and get all the supplies and boxes readied to pour.

Aug 24 2005, 12:56 PM
Joey H. said that since San Saba hasn't sold that John is still willing to hold groups there to rent it out so cast ur votes peeps!!!
I say San Saba :D

Aug 24 2005, 03:48 PM
NOcal, who all is going to corpus? Just you? Who all is having a fantasy draft? Just Hate?

Aug 24 2005, 04:13 PM
True...but who's got the truck arranged? Who's all said they would be there...this is wednesday already....like I said before, I'm not trying to bring this down, I just want to make sure all the resources and help is available so these boxes don't get screwed up. I guess if Kwah will for sure be there then go ahead and do it but just remember you'll be wheelbarrowing concrete to holes 1,2,3,6 short, and 8....hope you got the people to get it in faster than it begins to set and do the finishing touches!

JasonChaffin
Aug 24 2005, 06:26 PM
If its mowed, then Saba.

Maybe big steve and doug can step up to the plate this Saturday

Aug 24 2005, 06:53 PM
If we can get 2/3 the number of people to come out that came out last Saturday we should be ok. I guess that means around 6 people. Calm down NOcal, we will have it covered.

Plus, Outlaws is going to be going on next weekend so that would mean more people would be gone than this weekend.

Aug 24 2005, 07:11 PM
Rocco, Missy, et. al., if I were you, I'd read this (http://www.pdga.com/msgboard/showflat.php?Number=429457) this before voting on whether or not to go to TPCC for my outing.

Just giving you a hard time. It looks like we should have enough people there on Saturday to get the job done. Missy will be talking to the city guy tomorrow to make everything final. I will call Simon tomorrow so we can straighten out the scheduling conflict.

Aug 25 2005, 04:21 PM
I just spoke with the Temple Daily Telegram and they will be printing up a story on the Lion's Park project in this weekends paper. I did the interview with them and they will be at the park tomorrow between 5:00pm-6:30pm to take pictures to go along with the story. I spoke to Rocco and please try and make it out there. They would like pictures of people playing the course so take a shower, comb your hair and smile pretty for the cameras :D

Oh yea....i am still working on getting the concrete truck

Aug 25 2005, 05:10 PM
The planned pouring for the cement boxes this Saturday has been cancled. I repeat, we will not be cementing the boxes this Saturday. I will post the date that it will be rescheduled on when we I get the word.

We call yours the Nocal twist, you start off doing the 5 step approach and then you return to where you started...Very confusing, but at least you bring your Garmin w/ you every time you drive.
Checked the ratings of the Corpus tourney, you know they were way off, cus it had you, nocal w/ 900+ rated rounds :D Wut a joke.

Change of Topic here....

I put this on the LODGA thread since I am from LODGA, but I am also going to put this on several other threads, so don't get upset if you see this several times.....

Some of you know that Kathy,my wife, and I are school teachers. School kids from the huricane evacuation are starting to show up at local schools with nothing but the clothes on their back and maybe, and I mean maybe, one set of extras. They have no school supplies, and lunch money is a problem. Some lunches are probably going to be taken care of through the local systems, but the others stuff is in desperate need.

Target is clearing out all of their school supplies at 30-50% off. If you have a chance, go by Target and spend about $10 dollars on paper, pens, pencils, markers and glue and then take it to the closest elementary, middle school or high school. If you have kids or grandkids that have out grown clothes take the extra clothes also. The counselors can give them to the kids. Some of the kids are staying with relatives others are in local hotels or shelters. You can also take it to to a shelter and they will give them out.

I also know that some of the local schools here in NISD are going to do clothes and school supplies drives, so be open to that. We are being told that some of these kids could be in our school systems until Christmas or longer.

Also, and this is on a more personal note...I am an animal lover and there are animals showing up at the local shelters that are being turned away because the shelters do not allow animals. If any of you are animal lovers also or just have a soft spot in your hearts for a dog or cat, contact yopur local Humane Shelter and volunteer to be a foster parent to these animals. All you have to do is keep these animals until the owners and the animals can get back home.

Thanks for your time and if you cannot do anything else, help a kid who wants to go to school. They need their lives to be as normal as possible.

It's been brought to my attention that maybe we should use our mini being held this second Sunday of this month to help raise money to donate to the relief effort (Red Cross or something of the like) going on for Hurricane Katrina. That means that there would be no payout (unless people want to donate some discs for payout) and all entry fee money would be the donation. Since this is a club I think we should vote on it. You can send me your thoughts on this by PM. If you are not coming to the mini however then please save your opinion.

Sep 01 2005, 07:31 PM
I say donate it all, and no, I won't be there but still, I think it's a noble cause and a good one to donate to.:D

Hey everyone  I thinks this idea for a fundraiser mini is a really good idea. We should do whatever we can to help out all of the people affected by this. Since we all love to play disc golf, doing it for a good cause would be even better. Hope we can do this and get a good turn out to raise some much needed money for all of the victims of this tragedy.

Good luck to everyone going to outlaws!!!
Lookin forward to girls night out Sat!! (Hope you got your batwing back on for the ride Missy :p)

Talked to John Houck yesterday about San Saba for Oct 14-16. He will let us know. But, if at all possible, we need to give him some kind of estimate on how many people we may have. I told him to come up with a total price and we will see if that works for us.

Also, Charlie Farrar has said to put him down for a basket for the new course. How many is that now Roscoe?

Sep 02 2005, 03:32 PM
sorry ive been m.i.a so this is my catch up essay.i know its late but congrats to the temple guys and dolls that showed out in corpus. i think the donation idea is cool. in the temple paper they had a pic of some guys with a trunk load of miller light they had just looted so if they're jacking miller lights it must be slim pickins. i know if rocco was there he would be hittin up the loft olahs :) thanks for the basket donations to whom it applys. if you didnt get a chance to read the article big hate and MITSSSSSYYY were in the guy seemed really impressed with the effort tdga has put forth. jay awesome avatar and corresponding bust on norcal and footloose. and finally ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL ??????????temple high tonight U.T. tommorrow. Sep 05 2005, 03:26 AM
Great job Nocal. I knew this tournament would be a good showing to you because it played towards your strengths. Also, I wouldn't call going from second to fourth too much of a blow up just maybe a let down of expectations. The way I see it your just a slight improvement of putting away from playing advanced (you probably be competitve in that division right now but you would definately need to have your A/B game on).

Sep 05 2005, 10:12 AM
Way to go Norcal!! You stayed in the top 5 and that is great. From what i hear that course is a biotch so i think 4th is a great place to be. I agree with Rocco (shocker) about maybe it is let down of expectations but still it sounds like you did a great job! How did BoomBoom do?

Sep 05 2005, 01:40 PM
I think BoomBoom finshed 6th for his first time playing in Adv. Masters

Rocco....call me sometime this week so that we can go to Lowes and buy the mesh and prop ups or whatever they are....that stuff needs to be in by Friday, maybe we can install it on Thursday and do the finishing prep work, if any, on Friday :cool:/msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Add the Doc to that list and now we have nine. Please don't forget that if you have paid for a basket you will be getting a sponsorship sign on a hole on the course. Sponsors will get to pick the holes they want. If two sponsors want the same hole then talk to me and i'll figure something out that will be fair.

Sep 08 2005, 11:41 AM
Okay....so I have already talked to the city this morning and here is where we are at:

The concrete truck will only be available Mon-Fri. They will provide the truck and the driver. We will still have to do the work and provide tools/wheelbarrows. We need to discuss this maybe at the Sunday mini and set a day to do it. I ordered the replacement part for 15 at rotary this morning and the city will be covering the charge for that replacement. Also Rocco will be walking the Rotary course with the parks forman to work out the mowing situation. Will try to keep everyone posted on what is going on.

....and to think i did all of this before Rocco got outta bed :D

Sep 08 2005, 01:41 PM

Sep 08 2005, 08:15 PM
The hole sponsors are allowed to pick any of the 18 holes out at the course. If a sponsor doesn't care what hole his sign will be on then one will be picked for them.

Sep 08 2005, 11:56 PM
Is this weekend's mini still going to be used to donate money for the hurricane relief fund? If so I'll bring all my boys up to play.

Sep 08 2005, 11:57 PM
I think you should give Hate #4 that spike hyzer shot rules. ;) Though I do think he is right about #6 being the Big Hate. Anybody up for playing Lions on Sat. morning about 8:30am? Might be a couple of us coming down from Waco. Keep up the good work RrackWhore and Keela the Brain.

Sep 09 2005, 01:10 AM
Yes there is still a mini on Sunday. Players meeting at 10:00am and tee off at 10:30am. As of right now it is scheduled at Rotary. Singles first and depending on Rocco's mood doubles second. All monies will be donated to the Hurricane Relief Fund. Hope to see everyone there to help support in the aide of this tragic event.

Hmmm....8:30am on Saturday Joey?? Wonder if i can make it outta bed by then  Do I have to bring my discs this time?

Hey I forgot to sign up on the list for Saba so put me down along with Jeni....I'm still not sure if I will be able to make it down for all the days but I will know soon /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif What is the list of people going looking like anyways

JasonChaffin
Sep 12 2005, 10:01 PM
Hate is on there, that is all that matters :D

Sep 13 2005, 04:19 PM
...and don't forget that couples will be getting first dibs on the rooms. That means Hate and Missy will have one room, Doug and Missy will have another, and NoCal and Missy will have the third room. :D

Seriously though couples will have first dibs on the rooms. Single people wanting a room (if there are any left over...there should be) will be expected to pay a little more per day.

Sep 13 2005, 04:53 PM
Well it looks like i will have a room. So that would leave one for Rocco and Soothe....right?? I mean we wouldn't want to leave you two lovebirds out in the cold :o

I probably will not make it so don't put me on the list. If I do I will camp out or just come up for the day. :(

As far as rooms....you guys without girlfreinds or wives should all get a room together with one bed! Then after a couple of nights you might try to find a girlfreind!!!!

I just signed up for Wimberly Texas 10. I will be leaving Friday morning the 23rd and camping out that night. Will return after the Tourney on Saturday. Deborah will be with me!
Anybody else going???

JasonChaffin
Sep 14 2005, 12:08 AM

Sep 14 2005, 12:55 AM
Well Pacco, Missy and I ARE a couple. So we are getting a room at the couples rate and not the single rate... So don't be haten cause two girls get a room and your a** gets a cot, AGAIN :o

Sep 14 2005, 01:46 AM
He is juz hatin cause it looks like i will have 4 rooms to stay in and he will be outside....in a TENT

JasonChaffin
Sep 14 2005, 01:53 AM
in a TENT w/ Soothe

So how many we got going

Sep 14 2005, 02:16 AM
Rocco has the sign up sheet from Sunday. Maybe he can count and let us know how many signed up. Also if anyone would like to volunteer to help call people who do not have internet access and let them know about it, please let me know and I will give you a list of people to call. Right now i am busy with other duties for the TDGA and cannot get this done. Please let me know if you can pitch in.

Thanks!!

Sep 14 2005, 04:00 AM
There was only four names on the list when I got it. Hate, Missy, Jeni, and Christin. Add Jordan and myself and that makes 6. I'm not sure which Waco people will be going.

Sep 14 2005, 06:30 AM
count me in ill just have to change my name to (please see sweet avatar) :p j/k

Lets go ahead and make that the cutoff :D We will see yall when we get back :)

Sep 14 2005, 01:33 PM
Talked to Shannon at Circular and asked him to work up a price for the whole place not including greens fees. If we are going to get this to work, I think we need to have at least 30 people commit to going. Maybe we should get on the other threads and invite some of the other clubs and golfers to join us. This could be the last time we get to play these great courses. Waco will probably have about six representing.
I hate to upset Pacco but figured I better tell him now so that he will have some time to grasp this and accept it. I have reserved the Honeymoon suite at San Saba for Missy and myself. ;)And Missy, no you don't have to bring your discs. :D

Kiti
Sep 14 2005, 02:02 PM
Honeymoon sweet hmm? Well, I suppose yall can have it :p And you can go ahead and put Jordan in a room with me if Doug hasn't gotten to him first /msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif Plus it's easier to tie him to a bed than a tent

Missy if you need me to call some ppl just give me a list.

Sep 14 2005, 06:20 PM
Looks like i have got my choices of rooms to stay in that weekend...wow....that honeymoon sweet does sound really nice. Maybe i can find a way to split it up :D

Thanks for the offer for help Kiti. However, Rocco is handling this today and tomorrow. Had to give him sumthin to do to keep him from sleeping all day long

Sep 15 2005, 12:28 AM
Joey, there isn't enough penicilin in the world to cure what your going to have after this Saba weekend. Of course a knife will work if you don't mind cutting yourself in half at the waist to stop the spreading.

As far as getting 30, that could be hard to do. I guess it would be easier if everybody asked everybody they ran into if they are down for Saba. I'll be calling people tomorrow to see if we can get more on the list

Sep 15 2005, 05:30 AM
Well Pacco, Missy and I ARE a couple.

No we are not.

This is what seems fairest to me:

There will be a couples rate IF you want to have your significant "whatever" come and they do not play D-golf. I think this is how it was done last year (ex. Roper and Deborah, Crunch and his wife).

If you are a couple and you both plan on spending a weekend playing d-golf (Hate and Soothe, Jeni and NoCal, Christin and Keela for example) then you will each be paying the same singles rate as everybody else but you will have the privacy of your own room.

If you are a single person and there is a room or two left over that you would like to sleep in instead of the massive open area full of cots that leaves you succeptable to noises that range from UNBELIEVABLY LOUD snoring or late night partying then you will be expected to pay a little bit more.

Feel free to voice your opinions/ideas about this situation as well.

Hey I might call to see if JJ and Katy are up for it.

Sep 15 2005, 12:45 PM
Im going to post about the weekend on some other threads like Joey suggested and see if we can get some more people to make this happen :D:p

Sep 15 2005, 03:35 PM
As far as getting 30, that could be hard to do.

Not if we contact people directly and get the word out to other threads. We should be able to reach this number.

Keep in mind that there is a tournament that weekend in Austin :D Why do we need 30 people? Why not 20 or 25

Sep 15 2005, 08:35 PM
I think anything over 20 would be good...but 30 would be cheaper :D

Well to no avail I posted about our outing and it turns out the 28th annual Waterloo tourney is that weekend too :p So it's looking like what we got, is what we got /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Hopefully we can scrounge a few more people to knock down the price otherwise I'm out of it :(

Sep 16 2005, 04:59 PM

If you guys remember last year we planned on 10 people for one night, then about 2 weeks out we had 20 people and 2 nights, (Same price). Last year I think it was $300.00 per night plus green fees. That was $600.00 divided by 20 people = $30.00 bucks a head plus green fees,($20.00 bucks a head for 3 days).
You guys got almost a month to go and you are almost booked! The lodge will sleep 22 people with beds if couples sleep in the doubles.
NO PROBLEM!!!! :D

Sep 17 2005, 12:18 AM
Some of these folks are scared to camp out! They have to have a REAL bed and shower. I myself am content with a sleeping bag and a spring fed creek!!! But I probably will not be able to make it anyway.

Sep 17 2005, 12:56 AM
We all know your real reason for not going is that you don't want to be whooped at grass in front of a large crowd.

Hi Temple DGA!

I know y'all are going to be out at San Saba the weekend of Waterloo (and we'll miss you :(), but I was wondering if the club would be willing to be a tournament sponsor?

This is our big charity tournament for the Austin Ronald McDonald House, we've raised over $33,000 in the past 7 years, and we hope to get as much as $10,000 this year.

This is also our big tribute to Father Dave Tayloe. He was a big supporter of RMH so we have even more reasons to try and make it a record-breaking year for fundraising. Our different levels of sponsorship are:

For a sponsorship of $200 or more: your logo or name on the back of the official tournament shirt, on the club web site, plus on a tee-box sign. This sign will be seen by all of the competitors each time that they play the course. Your name will also be added to the Sponsor List that will be displayed at the course and distributed to the players, the general public, and the media.
For a sponsorship of $100 - $199: your name on a tee-box sign, web site, and Sponsor List.
For a sponsorship of up to $99: your name on the web site and Sponsor List.

Sponsorship can be in the form of cash, merchandise, or a combination of the two. Merch will be considered at retail value when determining the level of sponsorship.

Thanks! and have a great time out at John's! :D

Gordon, I will talk to the club about this. I know we are hurting for money after spending everything we had on 9 baskets and materials for the boxes at Lions Park. Be in touch soon :D

Thanks!!!

I know it is a rough time for a lot of people, especially with Katrina victims needing so much help, and I know y'all put a lot into your courses (for which all us golfers thank you :D).

We also need merchandise sponsorship, so if cash isn't possible at this time, merchandise would still be very useful. We'll have a huge raffle, silent auction, ring-of-fire, lots of CTPs, etc.

We appreciate the consideration! TDGA Rocks :D
